Oh, believe me. A lot of SW collectors would buy Owen and Beru as burnt remains just for the novelty value.

Feeling a bit nostalgic today, so...

This is an oldie, but it's one of my favorites: My dad and I at the Lebanese Taverna back home in Virginia in 2006.

Nostalgia you say?

Lastly, a funny photo essay my dad shot and my mom assembled from one of our elementary school "field days" lo those many years ago, of my brother and sister in (I think) 1990:

I'm loving looking at these old family pics you two are posting! Anyone who's been following the thread the past few days knows that I've been doing a lot of nostalgic family photo viewing myself with the collection of pics of my brother that my mom recently found. These pics are making me happy beyond belief (in a bittersweet way, but bittersweet is still sweet. :) ).

Here's me and my dad...check out that STYLE!

Me and my sister, since Easter is coming soon!

And another of my beautiful, wonderful big brother:

Our pictures have a similar theme. They tell the tale of a receding hairline.

Like I said earlier ... not balding, just getting lots of head. :techman:

As I am starting to lose more of my hair, I may just have to borrow this.

Same here. I wear a hat in most of my recent photographs to hide my genetic shame. Growing up I kept hearing that the male got his hair gene from his maternal grandfather, and my grandpa on my mom's side had a pretty nice and full head of hair until the day he died. My father, however, started losing his hair in his 20s and by the time his thirties were over with he was mostly bald. I thought I'd be okay in the hair department, but I'm 37 going on 38 and a significant portion of the top of my scalp is either smooth or wispy and fuzzy.

Guess all those stories about the maternal grandfather were wrong. (*Runs hand over thinning scalp and sighs*) There used to be a thick, lush jungle up here. I had a head of hair that would have made 1960s Pavel Chekov jealous. :brickwall::shrug:

Great pics TSQ. Is it weird that I have an overwhelming urge to colour correct them?

The color is bad, isn't it? Even worse is that my crazy great aunt managed to spell only my middle name correctly when she labeled them.
But in regards to color correction, the funny thing is, I AM that white and my brother WAS that brown! My little sister's even paler; one of the many crazy wonders of being mixed race!

Yep. They said when I was born that I had so much thick, black hair that I even had chops past my ears. Then they shaved it off to save my life, stupid premature self. :shifty:

My first birthday (also where my hair started to grow back).
Also, I swear to god there was a chocolate cake there just moments ago, and I don't know where it went.

By the time I was 10. Look at all this gorgeous hair!

The 80's called. Something about a sweater. :p ;) :D

(FWIW, I had one a lot like that.)

J.

The worst part of growing up is they stop letting you eat cake like that.

He looks like he was a hell of a guy, tsq. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Thanks for looking. :) Like I said, just knowing that other people have the chance to see his face helps keep him alive.

What can I say, my hair was always fabulous in the 80's:

God could have done something for my older sister, though:

^Just noticed--you can see my Vulcan ear in that picture! When I was a kid, that one ear was pointed!

Yes, the 80's. Why do I have a sudden urge to watch St. Elmo's Fire or The Breakfast Club now?
