Osama Bin Laden is Dead

An unnamed Pakistani intelligence officer is saying that Pakistani Intelligence actually raided the compound bin Laden would later live in while it was under construction in 2003 in search of another al Qaeda leader who was living there (they missed him at the time, but he was captured two years later).

If that's true, not only were they well aware of the compound itself, they were well aware that it was built as an al Qaeda safe house.

The fact that bin Laden felt safe enough to live in a house that had already been "raided" leads me to think he was pretty confident that he had some serious control over the ISI.

The SEALs were inserted on a stealthy special forces variant of the Blackhawk helicopter. This is the remains of the one that crash landed and was destroyed by the SEALs.

Pretty sweet.

You got me wrong friend I wasn't comparing I was just listing the bad things that have happened while I have been young. I am just saying I hope this doesn't happen to my kids(if I have any) or my family in general.

Yes. Bird flu. What a tragedy in how it's killed all of 300 people since 2003 and more generated a media-fueled panic of OMG feeling like shit for a few days!

Yep, such a memorable tragedy on the level of 9/11 or pretty much any other huge disaster that has occurred over the last few decades.

Yeah once again, not comparing the two, Just listing shit that happened. I am sorry you feel that something can't be bad if it doesn't kill atleast a thousand people.

All I can say is it is about time that we (the US) got him! Besides any of his cohorts and confederates try to assail us again we'll just send them on to meet Allah with Predator Drone!

Doesn't it seem kinda bad that America is celebrating a death by shot to the head.
There is also other people who do this. People we fight against.

The death of man that's caused thousands of lives and was a madman intent on the destruction of Western Society and Culture? Nope. Not bad at all.

It is very interesting. But be aware that the lower concept art is just one person's educated guess as to how the rest of the helicopter looks (with very little info). Reality could be completely different.

Well think about it. We are celebrating a death just like the people who have taken dead american soldiers and drag them through the street cheering.

Don't get me wrong I am glad as anybody to get rid of the guy. Glad he is dead, Though I think life in prison with no power, no money, and little fear from other prisoners would have ended the same way.
Just saying maybe we should still express our joy, but tone it done a little.

This is an incredibly foolish position, as if there is a moral equivalence between parading around the dead bodies of US soldiers who were out to protect innocent lives and celebrating the death of Osama bin Laden who openly and gladly murdered civilians by the thousands to serve his political ends.

Glad to hear your opinion. I am pretty sure its shared, just expressing mine. I have said I am just as happy as everyone, I just don't see the need to celebrate and throw parties, in my opinion, its just a bit much. Go ahead, go crazy on twitter, facebook, talk to your blue. But a parade would just be a bit much.

I can see the problem here, I am trying to say something along the lines above, but its coming out wrong. The soldiers of the U.S are more important than an aging political and terroist leader, who I am glad is dead. I also fear who might step up now that he is done.
I didn't mean to offend anyone, now I will take me leave.

I usually dont, but I'll make an exception for him and his murderous confederates. The post-9/11 America was after all largely due to his actions.

Fox News (News Corp) uses the acceptable alternative spelling of "Usama" when talking about bin Landen. That screen-cap is from a local affiliate that is paying for the "rights" to sue Fox's name, graphics, resources and air their programing. The person who made that banner worked for the local affiliate, esposed more to the "Osama" spelling and made simple malapropism between Osama and Obama; considering the latter was also going to make a speech during the programming break (actually Fox stations would've been in local news at that point) and the phonetical and spelling similarities between the two names it seems like it'd be an easy mistake to make.

Verbally I've stumbled on the same mistake the last week simply because "Obama" and "Osama" are very similar sounding not due to any confusion whatsoever between the two or any want to put any slight against the president whim I support, voted for and will vote for again.

There's a lot that can be said against Fox News and News Corp; a simple and understandable syntaxial error made by a local affiliate is not one of them.
I heard a compilation yesterday of newscasters all over the world making the same mistake. There must have been several dozen examples, not all of them American. I looked for it on Youtube and found a couple such compilations, but not the one I heard on the radio. The ones on Youtube had examples from Fox, MSNBC, BBC, CNN, and then some. It's not a Fox News bias thing.

I also fear who might step up now that he is done.

Terrorist camps/organizations is hardly like your local business with underlings being "groomed" to take a position when the head guy steps down or is otherwise removed from office. Any person to take Osama's place will take a while to completely fill the shoes.

Bin Laden isn't dead. His death was faked, and right now he is tortured in a secret location somewhere in Eastern Europe because he as the leader of Al Qaeda is a much greater source of information than any of his henchmen could have ever been.

I saw it in that one movie.

Tell me, are you a 9/11 Truther too?

Because that sounds like a good movie too.

"Deathers" is the new term for these people.

They include crazy nutball Alex Jones, former antiwar darling Cindy "I was crazy way back in 2003, but only some of you knew it" Sheehan.
"I am sorry, but if you believe the newest death of OBL, you're stupid. Just think to yourself--they paraded Saddam's dead sons around to prove they were dead--why do you suppose they hastily buried this version of OBL at sea? This lying, murderous Empire can only exist with your brainwashed consent--just put your flags away and THINK!"
