Spoilers Moon Knight discussion

So if Moon Knight is Marc's superhero identity, and Mr. Knight is Steven's, what's this Jake's suit going to look like...??

There are a couple of other costumes they could take from the comics. MK's current look is armored, more black than white. Might fit a more street vigilante kind of worldview. He has also worn a weird, almost ritualistic "ghost hunting" armor which looks more like Khonshu himself, with the bird skull head and all.

Or they could do something totally original.

Personally? I'd leave Marc as the supernatural hunter. Steven as an investigator (he likes research), almost a super detective figure. And maybe Jake as the vigilante "superhero." More public facing, looking to cash in on being Moon Knight in some way. But there are reasons I'm not in charge of stuff like that, so what do I know?

I'm thinking he did, but they were all Harrow's people.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who thought Ethan Hawke was Kevin Bacon. I took me until the second or third trailer to finally realize it wasn't Bacon.

I was reading an article about Moon Knight's different personalities in the comics on the Mavel website, and apparently that version of Steven Grant is a billionaire, and not a museum gift shop worker. He does have another personality that is a cab driver, and I kind of wonder why they didn't use that personality for our POV character, since they could still do a lot of the kind of stuff they've been doing, but it wouldn't have required as drastic a change from the source material.
I'm not complaining, I have no problem with them changing stuff, I just wonder why they decided to make that specific change, when there was alternative that was closer to the comics.

For the MCU and casual viewers it may also be that they didn't want another billionaire as a superhero to avoid comparisons with Tony Stark and maybe keep the character closer to the street. Also a Billionaire may seem unrealistic in the scope of the show because he would have the best available professional help wheres MCU Steven Grant being a poor worker adds to the character's desperation.

Artistic/mood choices i guess.

Maybe Steven is a billionaire and that's how he can afford that apartment and his mother doesn't exist. He's somehow repressed his past.

Because comic book Steven Grant is Bruce Wayne. Full stop. They clearly don't want the Batman comparisons that usually come with Moon Knight.

I think that's exactly the case.

Now, as for why use Steven and not Jake, I got nothing. Maybe they still want to introduce Jake later and figured changing Steven made more sense? I feel like if they introduce Jake now, he almost has to be a slightly criminal character. Not a killer, but like a thief or petty criminal. To balance out the more skilled Marc and the naive but goodhearted Steven. Somebody who only acts the hero reluctantly, or for fame/glory, but is really in it for themselves. We'll see.

I am thinking that they just merged Jake and Steven.

I really like this Steven Grant portrayal...he is a lot of fun. ANd it makes much more sense... unless that Billionaire persona was taken over by an existing person, it makes no sense. The TV Steven is an EASILY created identity that is perfect for a mutiple identity that can have a "real" life.

Looking forward to more of the backstory.

I'm looking forward to more of Steven and Marc's backstory. I am really curious about how long Steven has existed--parts of the story seem to imply that it has only been for a few months, but that wouldn't really make sense based on what we've seen on screen.

Episode 3: Probably the most interesting episode so far. Surprised they didn’t do any stunt casting for the other Egyptian God avatars. I assume we will see Ra by the end.
They hinted at a third personality who is even more ruthless. I don’t know anything about the character so he is probably already a known name.
It was funny to hear about interstellar drift again in a Egyptian themed tv show. That’s exactly why the Stargate didn’t work at first. Sadly they don’t have Samantha Carter to adjust for that here.

Damn, that's disappointing. I would've thought Marvel would've handled that better.

But good on Simu Liu for calling that out publicly.
Be fun if they had Harrow faking Mandarin revealed later, revealing him as a ludicrous fraudster.

Hard to imagine a Disney/Marvel show not having the budget to have something in another language properly scripted and coached. I mean, Barbara Eden spoke actual Persian in the I Dream of Jeanie pilot. It's not rocket science. But, c'est la vie.
