Spoilers Moon Knight discussion

It was Steven, when Layla saw him she asked him what he was wearing, and he said that she told him to summon a suit.
It could be kind of fun if this becomes a regular thing, with Marc using the regular Moon Knight costume when he need to use it's powers, and Steven using the Mr. Knight suit when he does.

There are some pretty neat Easter eggs. One of the books on Steven's desk is about Asgard and another one is about Wakanda. Marc's passport was issued in late 2018, after the blip, meaning he was not amongst the dusted. There was signage for the GRC, introduced in the Falcon and Winter Soldier, on billboards and buses.

Also, there have been QR codes in both of the first two episodes, in the first episode next to sarcophagus that Steven was showing it to little girl, and in the second episode at the door of Marc's storage unit. Both of these QR codes are links to classic Moon Knight comics.

Interesting mysteries here. So has the Steven persona only existed for several months since the time that Marc apparently disappeared? Steven thinks his flat belongs to his mum. Who does it really belong to? Did Marc really kill those people at the archaeological dig site, or did Kevin Bacon's cabal make that up?

Enjoying it a lot but unless things radically change all that talk about it being the "darkest" and "most violent" MCU series does seem to have been a great exaggeration.

I did laugh at the rooftop chase scene where they passed half a dozen parts of London that are nowhere near each other in a couple of seconds.

I had a moment where I thought Hawke was Kevin Bacon as well!

I am enjoying the show, I'm just not entirely sure how much I'm loving it, if that makes sense. Let's put it this way, it's not up there with WandaVision or Hawkeye for me yet.

So is Steven basically a newly formed additional personality of Spector's that's somehow gained control? Am I right in thinking Spector is the original personality? Who is Steven leaving voicemails for when calling his mum?

Steven turning into Mr Knight was funny.

I do think some of the CGI looks a little ropey. Also it's annoying that no one remotely believes Steven when people are living in a universe where Asgardian Gods and sorcerers are an everyday occurrence and where half the population of the world vanished for five years!

Isaacs continues to be very good in the role.

Well, the MCU series so far are Wandavision, F and WS, Loki, What If?, and Hawkeye, none of which were especially dark or violent (although Falcon was heavier than the others). I'd definately say Netflix Daredevel and Jessica Jones were, but I don't think that's what they were comparing Moonknight to.

I'd call this far darker than anything we've seen yet.

The fights in the first episode were cut out for comedic effect, so the only things we've seen him fight are CGI monsters.

Not a complaint by the way; it's just much more of a comedy (so far) then what they were claiming it was going to be like.

That episode is what I meant by "heavier", along with a serious and fairly controversial main antagonist. Apart from this episode, the rest of the series was IMHO standard comic book movie action.

I feel Moonknight has been darker through the first two episodes due to the near constant anxiety and panic experienced by the main character. I agree the violence in Moonknight has been pretty standard.

I'm thinking he did, but they were all Harrow's people.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who thought Ethan Hawke was Kevin Bacon. I took me until the second or third trailer to finally realize it wasn't Bacon.

I was reading an article about Moon Knight's different personalities in the comics on the Mavel website, and apparently that version of Steven Grant is a billionaire, and not a museum gift shop worker. He does have another personality that is a cab driver, and I kind of wonder why they didn't use that personality for our POV character, since they could still do a lot of the kind of stuff they've been doing, but it wouldn't have required as drastic a change from the source material.
I'm not complaining, I have no problem with them changing stuff, I just wonder why they decided to make that specific change, when there was alternative that was closer to the comics.

In the comics, the mercenary Marc was working for murdered them all and when Marc tried to intervene he got killed himself and subsequently resurrected by Khonshu. Not a far cry to pin the heinous crime on the "missing" guy, if the MCU wants to adapt the same idea.

Because comic book Steven Grant is Bruce Wayne. Full stop. They clearly don't want the Batman comparisons that usually come with Moon Knight.

Now, as for why use Steven and not Jake, I got nothing. Maybe they still want to introduce Jake later and figured changing Steven made more sense? I feel like if they introduce Jake now, he almost has to be a slightly criminal character. Not a killer, but like a thief or petty criminal. To balance out the more skilled Marc and the naive but goodhearted Steven. Somebody who only acts the hero reluctantly, or for fame/glory, but is really in it for themselves. We'll see.

Oh, I'd heard Batman references before, but I didn't realize they were that similar.

So if Moon Knight is Marc's superhero identity, and Mr. Knight is Steven's, what's this Jake's suit going to look like...??
