Theoretically, yes, but since both CBS and (Paramount parent) Viacom are controlled by National Amusements, the likelihood of that actually happening is minimal.
Also, while I believed that Paramout held an exclusive license to make movies which was granted by CBS, some of the documents coming out of the Axanar case around ownership point to Paramout owning the film rights outright, so while CBS could contract with whomever they like to make TV shows, they don't appear to have any control over theatrical rights. And as M'Sharak points out, perhaps it's academic anyway since both are owned by the same parent company.
Bad news for some of us. Moebius Models replied to a comment I made on Facebook which was hoping for prebuilt model kits of the Kelvin Timeline ships. Their response was that those kind of products weren't covered by their license.
It's not complicated, it's simplified by having CBS Consumer Products oversee tie-in merchandise based on both the films and the TV shows. If not done this way, comics or novels with elements from both would have to pass by two vetting agencies. (That didn't work too well when both Viacom Consumer Products and Gene's Star Trek Office were both vetting manuscripts in the late 80s/early90s.)
All they'd have to be prepared to do is bid for the "prebuilt model kits" license, too. (EDITED FOR CLARITY.)
Hallmark is doing a USS Franklin ornament next year - and "Pop!" figures have come out for TOS, TNG and "Beyond".

I'm not sure what other "licensing rights" you mean. Everything would be spelled out in the agreements between CBS, Paramount and Bad Robot. It's not like the 60s, where ownership of royalties and rights for the 1960s "Batman" TV series were confused by a lack of contractual foresight (across the decades) between DC Comics, Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox and Greenway Productions.
What do you mean? They HAVE the license. They've announced that they're making kits of both configurations of the USS Enterprise, the USS Franklin, the USS Kelvin, and the Jellyfish.
In that case, they don't have the license for "those kind of products" (ie. prebuilt model kits) mentioned in your earlier post. Perhaps another company already has that particular license?
The conversation was between me and another poster about Paramount's side of the deal, their control of the distribution of the actual movies. We had already discussed the licensing rights belonging with CBS earlier.
So, any word on those cup toppers in the US yet?

The Cheyenne class is being considered by Eaglemoss, as is the Titan. The Aventine and the Odyssey-class Enterprise-F are being petitioned for, but need at least 5,000 people basically promising to buy them before they'll get made. The Titan already hit that milestone.

They had them in a theater chain in Canada, about as close as you'll get.
I won't be surprised if the ships in the Walmart BluRay set are cast from the same molds.

I'm shocked that the Odyssey-class Enterprise-F is so close to its goal. I signed it back when the petition first started, but thought it would be such a long shot and didn't bother to check its progress. I'd definitely get the Aventine and the Titan too.
The late Thomas Sasser did a lot of work for them too IIRC
