Neat. The proportions seem more like the Beyond Enterprise than the 1701-A, though...Spin master has started sending out Enterprise-A's for review. Saw this on youtube this morning.

Yeah, it's the first officially licensed flying enterprise. It looks fantastic. I just don't know why it's the Enterprise - A. Did the license cost slightly less if they called it the "A" ? Doesn't make a lot of sense.
That's actually a pretty good idea.Different timeline, I'd be for giving Kirk a different command. Then reunite him with a new Enterprise later in the series.
I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to swap out the rear section and release a nuEnterprise down the line, since the saucer sections look pretty similar.Certain concessions to the model no doubt had to be made to make it viable for flying. Although Spin Master has said that from its own internal research they only expect 20% of them to ever be flown, the remai in 80% will be displayed / collected.
Personally, I'm going to fly the hell out if mine.
I always thought the patches were embroidered, not silk screen printed.Anovos is doing kits of the hand phasers. Yay!
It's $300 for an unbuilt, unpainted kit with no electronics whatsoever. $400 if you want the servo that flips from stun to kill.Oh, and they don't even start shipping until November. Mega-pass. Diamond, please get your new phasers out soon!
(They're also doing neat ID/Beyond Starfleet patches for $15 which is much more reasonably priced.)
I think the patch in question was silk screened for the actual prop, so Anovos is replicating that.I always thought the patches were embroidered, not silk screen printed.
I imagine so, just a change that was surprising.I think the patch in question was silk screened for the actual prop, so Anovos is following suit.
Could be the costume designer thought an embossed, 3D silk-screened patch looked more "futuristic" than an embroidered one.I imagine so, just a change that was surprising.
Probably so. Durability isn't a factor when its a collectible that will be under glass anyway.Could be the costume designer thought an embossed, 3D silk-screened patch looked more "futuristic" than an embroidered one.
I'll tell you what's been sadly lacking for decades: a Nerf Enterprise. Think of the marketing strategy:
"Crash it as many times as you want and it will still bounce right back for more voyages!"
