I don't even know what to say.

Total disaster all the way around.

Congrats to the Angels, they deserve it.

Now go forth and kick some Yankee ass.

Hopefully this team gets a major overhaul in the off season.

Holy crap!!!

That's way too much stress before lunch.

Well, that was fucking awesome. What a great game. Down 5-1.... I really thought we were going to game 5 after Willits was picked off.

But Vlad the Impaler finally came through!!

I'm really just going to enjoy this, and worry about the ALCS tomorrow. Many beers shall die today.

I BELIEVE!!!!!!

Yeah. Did the NBA ever get around to refunding all the fines it levied against Mark Cuban for complaining that Tim Donaghy was fixing games?
No. Because Cuban was never fined for accusing Donaghy of fixing games, because he never accused Donaghy of fixing games. Cuban was fined for criticizing the officials in general, usually only after a loss by his team or a win by the Lakers.
As I recall, right up until Donaghy was indicted people were making fun of Cuban and saying the refs were just making human errors.
People are still making fun of Cuban albeit for other reasons, but laughing nonetheless.

Congrats to the Dodgers and the Angels. On track for that Freeway Series. :)

Somehow the Red Sox losing in dramatic fashion makes the Pats loss a little less awful.

Go any team that faces the Red Sox!

I still don't understand why you despise them so much...it's not they have a history with the Mets, and the history that is there, is in favor of the Mets.

Couple that with the fact that you love the Pats (as do I), just makes it more confusing to me, since most Pats fans are also Sox fans, so if you had an issue with the Sox fans, well I guess Pats fans act the same way.

I could understand being a Mets fan, I just don't get your passionate hate for the Sox.

Sort of like how I just don't get all the Yankees hate :(

Well for me, it's in the blood...whole rivalry thing.

As for others, success breeds hate in those who are fans of other teams, so thats a factor. And while they haven't won a WS for a while, I believe its the combination of the large amount of money they spend relative to other teams, and the players, such as A-Rod, that many people don't like.

Something just made it seem that this was not the Red Sox year. Not that it seemed like it was the Angels' year mind you.

Ya, they never really clicked at all this year. At some time during the season, either the bullpen sucked, or the starters sucked, or the offense sucked. They never really gelled.

I still find it incredible they won 95 games.

Well thats what the offseason is for, to correct those issues.

There was a stretch where it seemed a real possibility that they'd miss the playoffs altogether. Given that, it's a measure of success that they made it. Then again, when you've become accustomed to not only making the post-season but winning it all ....

I sort of wish they made it through. There are few games in any sport that have the energy and excitement of a post season Red Sox/Yankees game

I had the exact same feeling pretty much all year. It just didn't feel right for some reason.

Oh well, hopefully things will work out better next year.

going to be below freezing at first pitch tonight. Interestingly enough, the delay may help the Rockies out if it comes to game 5, they can throw Aaron Cook on normal rest. I hope it doesn't come to that and the Rockies take care of business at Coors.

Rox/Phils game cancelled for tonight. Good thing too, it's freaking freezing out here, bad day for baseball. Tomorrow should be in the 40's at game time.

Why are the games in Philly ridiculously early (and even earlier Colorado time) while the ones in Colorado very late at night where it is freezing (and 10pm in Philly)? Why can't MLB playoffs make more sense than that?

Honestly I think the scheduling was arranged to favor the Red Sox and Yankees. Both teams have gotten some pretty choice scheduling slots. I think the Yankees have played at 6 for the past two games and are playing at 7 tonight. Really, what they should do is give the NL games to one channel and the AL games to another. You wont be able to watch every game but at least youll watch the games you actually care about

That would make sense.

The thing is that, I know they don't think anybody cares about the world series defending champions. But they should care about the integrity of the sport enough to know that the place with colder temperatures should have the day game and the one with warmer temps should have the night games.

Seriously, anybody with a job in the Philadelphia area has trouble watching these games (noon during the week, 10pm on a Sunday).

EDIT: I'm shocked about the Sox going out in three. Congrats to the Angels.

And its done, the Yankees are heading to the ALCS :D

Congratulations, Yankees fans. As angry as I was over Cuzzi's calls, you guys really earned the wins in the end. The Twins acted like they were out of their element and couldn't handle the pressure when it counted.

The shame, I think that this is all the Twins are ever going to be. I've been following them my whole life, even after I moved away. I just don't feel like watching them anymore because they just fold whenever there's any pressure. I mean, two massive baserunning errors that cost them runs in a postseason series? I gotta find something more productive to do with my life.
