Yanks/Angels ALCS. This is gonna be good. :techman:

Well, looks like this will be the last Twins game in the Metrodump. Pavano did pitch well for 'em, I gotta admit that. Anyway, good riddance to indoor baseball!

In breaking news, 5 fans were killed in the stands at Coors Field by flying lugnuts when Jason Hammel's wheels shot off in the 4th.

Car-Go just picked him up and tied it up.

looking at the Rockies Phillies game, it was an exciting match but the Phillies were able to win it in the end. *keeps fingers crossed for the rockies*

Congrats to the Angels- I'll be rooting for them now.

As for the Twins/Yankees game: Well, the drive to and from the game was a blast. Can't say I'll miss that dump, but I'm glad I was there for the end.

Why are the games in Philly ridiculously early (and even earlier Colorado time) while the ones in Colorado very late at night where it is freezing (and 10pm in Philly)? Why can't MLB playoffs make more sense than that?
Seriously! I have only been able to watch maybe 5 innings between the three games - last three innings of game 1, first of 2&3 - since I have to go to bed early on weekdays now. It's damn annoying. I considered getting up to check the score when my roommate came in to go to bed around 1:30AM - but then I realized the game might not even be over yet.

I feel cold just watching the Phillies-Rockies game.

Yet at the same time, no one thought twice about it watching the Broncos play in the same city on the same day. It's weird how that works.

Then again, who is the knucklehead at MLB that decided to start the game that late knowing the weather would be frigid.

It was in the 7th at 1:30 (which is when I made it to). I was only up that long because I had homework. Otherwise, my biological need for sleep prevented me from watching the rest.

That's my question, too. It's well and good that MLB resisted tinkering with the schedule with virtually no notice, but you'd think this time of year in Denver would have cause someone to stop and think about the game time and all. Maybe it's all that was left, given the Broncos home game has been on the schedule for awhile

^ Like I said, maybe it was TBS. They have exclusive rights for all division series games, so maybe the game times were arranged to reflect that. If two games were on at the same time, obviously they couldn't show both of them...

The thing is they were originally going to have all 4 series on yesterday. Hence the real early start in Boston (they complained about that here) and the real late start in Denver.

With the Cards-Dodgers ending in a sweep Saturday, they had the opportunity to make the start times a little friendlier but opted not to. I imagine it had something to do with the Pats-Broncos game.

Oh and if I ever hear the term 'wild horses' offense again I may lose it.

Okay, the day of celebration is over. The hangover is firmly in place. Now down to business.

I think this Yankees/Angels series could be epic. Everyone knows the stats. The Angels are the only team with a winning record against New York over the past dozen or so years. The Angels have beaten the Yankees twice in playoff series in the decade.

I don't know how much any of that will mean. The Yankees are so loaded. It's pretty amazing what no salary cap will do for you! (The Yankees payroll this year is about 90 million more than LA's, and LA's is pretty high).

Neither team was really pushed in the ALDS, in terms of pitching. Everyone should be rested and ready on both sides.

The Angels have their work cut out for them, but this team has never been intimidated by the Yankees. Scioscia is one hell of a game manager, and will hopefully keep finding ways to win.

Best of luck, Yankees fans! This should be a lot of fun.

The end of the Yankees game and beginning of the Phils still overlapped. The Phils were put on TNT. So that still was an issue.

If I ever hear Chip Caray again *I* may lose it. :brickwall:

(Ron Darling is the best announcer I've ever heard for a home game. Not just because he used to play. At least he knows what he's talking about, he's not some babbling Mouseketeer like most of those other guys.)

Yes they can. If they want to that is. One game on TBS, the other on TNT concurrently.

Though I'm all for having more than one network show the DS and then moving everything to one network after that. That starting time in denver is BS.

This should be an interesting series. Girardi is every bit as good of a game caller and manager as Scioscia though.

That being said....

GO HALOS!

Digits, how would you feel about a freeway series? I'm finding myself excited about the possiblity...

:brickwall: Why couldn't Chip have asked his Dad or Grandpa to teach him the ropes? :brickwall:

If you get a chance, you should listen to either Thom Brennaman or Mark Grace. They both run circles around Chip. Personally, I think Grace is just as good as Darling was last night.

I honestly had no idea those two networks were related...I never considered what the acronyms meant. :alienblush:

I think it's Bad JuJu to look too far ahead, but....

IF the stars align in such a way as to make that happen, it would be awesome. If for no other reason than to piss off the East Coasters....

And then the rockies lose the lead :(

EDIT: Well, its going to be Dodgers/Phillies and Yankees/Angels
