Major League Baseball 2009

Speaking of logos, here's one thing I don't get:

I always thought the Mets' logo (the one that has the Y superimposed on top of the N, so it looks like it's forming an M) was unique to them. I had no idea that the old NY Giants also used that logo (before they moved to San Fran). But why would *they* do that? As I said, the Y is pretty clearly meant to look like an M, and there's no M in Giants...

Well, you know, between the 2007 playoffs and this year there was a year known as 2008 in which the Phillies won the World Series...so I don't know why there would be the expectation for the Rockies to sweep just because it happened two years ago.

I missed most of the game because of school stuff. Stupid afternoon games.

Game can be pretty much summed up as two words - Cliff Lee.

Phillies had nice fourth/fifth innings and piled on some runs, but the only thing mattered was Lee.

Yeah, we were finishing up our project when the first run was scored - Matt had gamecast up on his computer. By the time I got home and turned the game on it was 5-0.

Sucks though, that unless the Twins can force a Game 5, they'll end up losing their last ever game in the Metrodome...

I'm sorry, the Yankees already won the second game? That's amazing!

Did I miss something? Games 1 and 2 are at Yankee Stadium, games 3 and 4 at the metrodome. While they could technically win the series, I can't see it happening, the Yankees are just a much better team. Way I see it, they either force game 5, or they lose their last game in the Metrodome...

Yankees won game 1, so i'm on my way to being right...

What if MN wins Games 2 and 4, and loses Game 3 (already lost Game 1), then loses the 5th Game in NY.

Or loses 1 and 2, and win 3 and 4, then lose Game 5.

They could win the last game at the dome and lose the series.

It annoys me when people don't read. He said they either force a game 5 or lose their last game in their shitty stadium.

However they can win the next three games and problem solved.

Hopefully the Rox will use bats instead of toothpicks today.

A 12-year-old girl got Ryan Howard's 200th home run ball (the quickest to 200 HRs), the Phillies exchanged it for an autographed ball, and her greed-is-good mother filed a lawsuit to get the ball back. Here's hoping the Phillies just gave her back a random ball. I wonder if she had to return the autographed ball, because that would serve her right to give up an autographed ball in exchange for a ball she can't prove is anything, because anyone can $ee through her fake explanations for wanting the ball back.

When the two guys who fought over the Barry Bonds ball ended up losing money when everything was said and done, that was justice served.

Dear Colorado Rockies:

Please fucking score when you have the bases loaded and less than 2 outs.

That is all.

Thank you.

ETA Thank you Huston Street, but make it a little less interesting next time.
