Obviously, I am not her, but if they want to sign him, they obviously shouldn't put a lot of faith in him. There's no salary cap so he could be worth the little bit of risk they'd take on him. He's not a long-term solution to their pitching concerns, though.

Great game from Lincecum. I wonder though if the pressure got to him. He is still quite a young pitcher and having a no hitter going into the 7th inning makes the rest of the game quite harder. He looked like he was out of Gas when Bochey took him out and I think it was for the best. He got his 10th win, still maintaining that good ERA was Haren, and should start the game on Tuesday. Nice to see the Giants avoiding those losing streaks too. Go out one day and get creamed 7-0, and then come back the next night and blow out the other team.

I'd rather they not get Martinez. I doubt he'd be much of an improvement over any of the current guys.

Halladay, though - sell the farm! Ha.

This just in, the Nationals still suck.

And the poor Mets...9 out with injuries? Did I read that right? *gets more glue for Mr. Met to sniff*

You know, I was going to come on here and alienate philly fans for their manager making the wrong choice but I'm not going to do that. I'm not a poor sport or anything like that, but I am frustrated that this of all weeks was the week that the Phillies didn't suck and had some amazing performences. That, and the manager being biased.

So Jason Worth is going in place of Pablo. I guess after yesterday I'm not surprised but that really sucks. Pablo deserves a spot on that team, but he is still barely a rookie (He got called up late last season) and has many years ahead of him. Now if Lincecum does not start than I really well be ticked. I still don't understand the argument either that Haren is a better pitcher when Lincecum is 10-2 and Haren has 5 losses.

mimic, do you think the Phils should sign Pedro Martinez? Word is they're interested.

The Rangers are also in some what of contention for the coveted Roy Halladay. Even though they have limited amounts of cash, and that's putting it lightly, they also have one of the best farm systems in all of the Bigs. There's lots of talk here of what we would have to give up for Halladay.

Even if Halladay would come here, and that's a big "if" considering the ball park he have to play in, I hope the Rangers wouldn't give up the farm. We have a lot of good young ballplayers in AA and AAA, and I'm not sure it would be anymore than a quick fix.

Ok, so it isn't Manuel's fault, but the rule is stupid. What's the point of the final vote than, when you can just take someone from the original player ballot.

Pedro could be an interesting pickup. Anyone who throws Don Zimmer to the ground in a playoff game has to be okay...

Otherwise, it'll be interesting to see where (if anywhere) Halladay goes. Toronto wants to be blown away by an offer for him, and not a lot of clubs are in a position to do that. Not the Yankees or the Red Sox. From what I understand, the Phillies and the Rangers have some of the best prospects right now, and would be willing to part with them.

I guess we'll find out over the next few weeks.

The Phillies did win the NL last year so Manuel can take whoever he feels like taking. And Jayson has had an outstanding year and certainly deserves to go.

Also, the Phils were pretty hot the three weeks going into interleague. The Phils are a streaky team, and had a hot streak, a cold streak, and are currently on another hot streak. I don't really appreciate the 'this week was the week the Phils didn't suck' bit there.

The Sox could easily put together an offer to blow away Toronto, if they wanted Halladay bad enough.

^But they have no reason to do so. The Sox have no glaring need for a strong starting pitcher, and would be foolish to give a lot of young talent to a division rival.

In the dumbest trade ever, Jeff Francoeur has been traded to the Mets for Ryan Church. Dumbest trade ever? Possibly.

Saw the highlights from the Giants game. Sucks about the error taking away from the perfect game, but still awesome nevertheless. The Rangers have been having a good year, but they got swept in San Fran. This Giants team aint too bad!

btw, Mr. Laser Beam, please tell your team to destroy the Angels. Thanks.:bolian:

True, they do not. However, if Toronto does not want to trade within the division, and they already said that, yes, they would trade within the division, they would be limiting the potential return of the trade.

Im not saying I want the Sox, nor do I think the Sox will make the trade, but I would not be upset if it happened. You don't often get the oppurtunity to get the best player at a certain position in any sport.

And Congrats to Jonathan Sanchez!

YES YES YES

I've never seen a Giant pitch a No Hitter. I couldn't believe it was Sanchez and not someone like Lincecum and Cain but oh well. Still awesome anyway. I was on the edge of my seat that final inning. That ball Rowand caught had me saying that's the play of the game and it probably was. It protected the no-hit bid and all the rest of just the icing. Great night.

Also, gotta give props to Whiteside. 25th start and it's a no-hitter and he was calling an awesome game. That breaking ball was nasty tonight and Sanchez was just really dealing. Pity for Uribe though. Could have been a Perfect Game, but oh well. That was still freaking awesome.

No hitter from the 5th started who was taken out the rotation. Only starting because of an injury to Randy Johnson. Eli Whiteside catching because Molina's wife is giving birth.

Nice home run by the panda, a kid who was in A ball last year.

What a night, this is turning into a magic season.

^And his career stretches back to the Nixon era it feels like.
Yeah, but he's still got the stuff. He definitely deserves to be an All-Star this year.

But man, Lester was lights-out last night, mowing down the Royals and helping the Sox regain sole possession of the AL East lead with the Angels taking care of the Yanks. :)
