I just watched the Ubisoft E3 press conference. James Cameron talked about the Avatar movie and game for 20 minutes and they didn't show a second of game footage. I was bored to tears.

So Cameron's finally done milking the success of Titanic?
So Cameron's finally done milking the success of Titanic?
Wha? If Cameron had tried to milk Titanic he would have done as many as movies as possible after that for the big paychecks. It looked to me like Cameron went into self imposed exile for 10 years not bothering to make anything besides documentaries hoping the hype would die down before doing a real movie. So there was no milking.
.
Or you could say he took the time to develop underwater camera technology, 3-D technology, motion capture and animation technology and basically a bunch of other things that have and probably will revolutionize certain facets of filmmaking.
After his E3 speech even the people who are most looking forward to Avatar may loose most of their enthusiasm for the movie. You guys are crazy. As an ardent admirer of both sci-fi and Cameron, I'm looking forward to this. The man deserves the hype.
