I officially began my journey through all Star Trek on October 9th...

That's pretty close.

Seven of Nine

Sure, but there are a few duds that are still ahead of him before he gets to the good part. (e.g. one centered around the doc, another one centered around kim, both pretty awful!)

Expect rhe Borg from First Contact, not the Borg from BobW.
But still Voyager managed to do some bew things with them.
Some good to brilliant like Scorpion and I believe Drone is the episode name and some aweful stuff.

I quite enjoyed dark frontier. But yeah season 4 is definitely where voyager starts to shine.

It's a shame they broke up. Whilst they weren't favourites of mine, I thought they were decent together.

And yeah it was totally botched in the way it ended. They split up in Warlord when Kes was under the influence of someone else, yet then they stay split up? If the writers couldn't be bothered to care about the finer details making sense, then how can we be expected to care either?

I think the show was missing Michael Pillar's influence by now.

When you have 26-episodes to fill each season and a three-year relationship to end, you should probably dedicate one of those episodes to it :ack:

I am glad they did it that way. I was sick enough of hearing about their relationship as it is. Kes needs Neelix like a fish needs a bicycle.

I think it took that warlord guy taking over her brain for her to realize that she was not bound by that relationship.
Being an Ocampa conventional wisdom of her species pretty much requires staying with your mate for your whole life.
They don't have time to not have families.
But she is no longer part of that society and probably realized that with the bit if perspective change.
Well, somewhere in a metaphysical higher realm Tuvix goes; "Oh, well, thanks a lot!! Dammit!"

Jeez I remember pretty much nothing from Voyager. Goes to show what a lasting impression it leaves on people. I was thinking of giving it a try again after I finish Enterprise this week but considering the recent posts I'm thinking I'll just go to TOS.

If you don't want to waste your time wading through crappy episodes, you should start watching Voyager at Before and After. From this episode on the watchable ones outnumber by far the shitty ones.

Before and After WAS a good episode!

Before and After is in my opinion the best Kes episode. One of the few times the writers actually figured out what to do with the character.

It's also quietly and without fanfare a major pivotal episode in the Voyager series. The writers are starting to use tricks that Trek very very rarely ever touched on. (Outside of DS9).

As we said the next 5 episodes of Voyager are actually quite good.

Also I can't remember how you have been handling 2 partners split as season Enders? In this case I would suggest that if you do opt to watch Scorpion part 1 and 2 back to back, go one episode further to The Gift. It's the better break point to switch back to DS9. The Gift is to Voyager and Scorpion 1&2 as "Family" is to TNG and Best of Both Worlds.
