Hyperion Shipyards

Hawku

Transwarp Specialist
Fleet Captain
Thought it might be fun to catalog the starships and crew I use in my fiction. This first post will index the ships and link to consequent posts detailing their crews and stories they come from. Many stories take place in STO, so a lot of ship classes will come from the game. Will add as I go. Cheers!

U.S.S. Phoenix-X (NCC-65420-X), Prometheus-class

The U.S.S. Phoenix-X was the twenty-fifth starship to bear the name Phoenix after a freak two-year transwarp-testing phase in which its predecessors were near-destroyed one after the other. After its success, it lasted far, far too long with an interminable crew of misfits on a ship of unquestionable questionability and way too many leola root vending machines.

Late 24th century:
- Captain Daniel/Cell | M | Changeling
- Commander Night Gotens/Seifer | M | Trill (joined)
- BOB | Special counselor, bartender | M | Ferengi/Cyborg

Early 25th century:
- Captain Oroku Seifer | M | Trill (joined)

Crew (2370s, 2410):
- Lieutenant Commander Armond | Tactical | M | Human
- Lieutenant Commander Kugo | Chief engineer | F | Vulcan
- Lieutenant Commander Red | Helm | M | Klingon
- Doctor Lox | Chief medical officer | M | Human
- Lieutenant Kayl | Operations | F | Human (augmented)
- Ensign Dan | Science / Helm | M | Bajoran

Crew (2390s):
- Lieutenant Commander Tong | Tactical | M | Human/Esper
- Lieutenant Commander Veker | Science | M | Kelpien
- Lieutenant Commander Gewdeque | Chief engineer | F | Human
- Doctor Xyrenia | Chief medical officer | F | Deltan
- Lieutenant Briggs | Operations | M | Silver Blood
- Lieutenant Hachi | Helm | M | Coridanite
- Lieutenant Elly | Chief of security | F | Orion

Quotes:
"Sir, we've wasted hours of power and resources for no results whatsoever. I think it's safe to say we're the poster-ship of diminishing returns."
"Hm. Make a note that we should stop trying in general."

-- Lieutenant Commander Armond & Commander Seifer ("Devil's Leftovers")

I.K.S. B'Cnah, Vor'cha-class

The I.K.S. B'Cnah maintained a half Starfleet crew exchange program until the 25th century, where it returned to a fully Klingon vessel. During its service, the crew grappled with vengeful Section 31 agents, time-travelling anarchists and Warp-10 salamanders, until losing it all to the Kazon-Rokka. So, a good day.

Early 25th century:
- Captain Menchez | M | Klingon
- Lieutenant Commander Derok | Security | M | Klingon
- Lieutenant Ulkegh | Tactical | F | Klingon
- Lieutenant Commander Tayana | Chief engineer | F | Klingon
- Lieutenant Ch'Tong | Helm | M | Klingon
- Doctor Terek | Chief medical officer | M | Klingon
- Necktos | M | Klingon
- Bekk Rinn | M | Klingon
- Kvok | Klingon

Quotes:
"Sir! You cannot really mean to eat those things??"
"It is the only way to prevent from further Warp 10 incursions, Lieutenant. We may be saving the Delta Quadrant from scientific incongruity, but we are still Klingons! It is our duty to do horrifying deeds and then ask questions later!"
-- Lieutenant Ulkegh & Captain Menchez ("The Delta We Left Behind")

U.S.S. Zephyra, Sovereign-class

The U.S.S. Zephyra, despite lacking the spotlight, was launched in time to assist in the counter of several divergent Hirogen. It was later abducted into Fluidic space by an Undine scientist and, after escaping, was captured by Tal Shiar. It served as support for the Phoenix-X and was successful in returning abducted Earth Spacedock personnel. But, even after all that, they still don't get their own show.

Crew:
- Captain Aeris | F | Human
- Doctor Lila | Chief medical | F
- Lieutenant Commander Ritsuko | Chief engineer | M | Trill
- Lieutenant Wendy | F | Human
- Lieutenant Kuri | Betazoid
- Ensign Tallah | Bajoran
- Ensign Brook | Engineering | Human

Quotes:
"I did get the Zephyra into its fair share of pew pews."
-- Captain Aeris ("Earth Spacedock," Pages 3-7)

U.S.S. Crucial, Intrepid-class

The U.S.S. Crucial was a ship with a crew plagued by body-displacements caused by an over-enthusiastic, unpredictable Traveler. The first, was from the 24th century to the 28th century to finally be returned to the 25th century. The second, was with a Ferengi crew who were placed into the crew of the Crucial, and the crew of the Crucial put outside of the space-time continuum. The third, was a trade-off with some nanites, but we don't talk about that.

Crew:
- Captain Harley Menrow | M | Human
- Lieutenant Commander Sen Hatcha | Science & operations | F
- Lieutenant Commander Grunley | Chief engineer | M
- Lieutenant Torch Barley | Tactical & security | M
- Lieutenant Sam Ferona | Engineering | F
- Counselor Jeanne | F

Quotes:
"Grunley, I'm sorry I tried to sell you off to the Vaadwaur in an attempt to repeat Wayfar's re-lifenings."
"That's okay. An Orion tried something similar on me back in my Academy days. He said he was just going to lift me up. I should've asked why. I see that now."
-- Captain Harley Menrow & Lieutenant Commander Grunley ("Lazarus")

USS%2BJenova.jpg

U.S.S. Jenova, Centaur-class

The U.S.S. Jenova was a ship just struggling to function in a galaxy of operational virtue. It was often described as a "Tier 1" vessel, as compared to other ships which were usually already at their "Tier 6" levels. Thus, the Jenova was required to have some of the longest hours worked for engineers in its crew compliment to merely exist and, as a result, the crew had been able to overcome Iconian-variant crippling viruses, the construction of extradimensional transformation matricies and Hollywood-style Dividiian warp-bubble prison camps. Is it lunch yet?

Crew:
- Captain Iviok | M | Andorian
- Commander Melyot | Security | M | Klingon
- Lieutenant Commander Caveat | Chief engineer | M
- Lieutenant Commander Gondi | Tactical | M
- Lieutenant Sara | Science | F | Human
- Lieutenant Doyanis | Helm | M
- Doctor Rubens | Chief medical officer

Quotes:
"Captain, this is about us operating within our limits. After all the struggle we continuously put into this junk ship— working Edward Jellico-level shifts— just to keep us barely above water in a Tier 5-U/6 Quadrant, I think I speak for all of us when I say, the Jenova is our home— as painful as it is to live here."
-- Lieutenant Commander Gondi ("Things Crew Members of the Jenova are No Longer Allowed to Do")

U.S.S. Hijinx, Akira-class

The U.S.S. Hijinx was one of several ships returned from a massive molecular reversion field event in which many crew were reverted to a young age and resubmitted into Starfleet Academy. The ship was commanded by a liberal yet self-destructive Captain who helped uncover another batch of Bluegill neural parasites, time-travel-recruited herself to fight Iconians, and rescued Starfleet crew from both body and space-time displacements. All in time for date night.

Crew:
- Captain Andrea Reynolds | F | Betazoid
- Lieutenant Commander Bo-Lin | M
- Lieutenant Scion | Chief engineer | M
- Lieutenant Lane | Tactical & security | F
- Ensign Jolene | Science | F

Quotes:
"As you know, in-field work is riddled with crazy floating head aliens and homicidal, one-dimensional, leather-bound villians— Some of which are British in translated-accent."
-- Captain Andrea Reynolds ("Teaching the Next Generation")

U.S.S. Dropzone, Defiant-class

The U.S.S. Dropzone was an escort and defense ship attached to Starbase 55, commanded by a precise and lethal, shoot-first Captain with no sympathetic competence. After the ship was infested and musically-cleared of Q-animal-things in 18th century French army uniforms, its Captain uncovered a Changeling posing as her sister on Earth and a Bluegill neural parasite attempting to counsel her. The only respite for stress-relief? An annoying holiday party.

Crew:
- Captain Yuffie Samya | F | Human
- Commander Jarell | First officer | M
- Lieutenant Commander Mika | Science | F | Human
- Lieutenant Commander Ryuk | M
- Lieutenant Envy | Operations | F
- Doctor Tifa | Chief medical officer | F | Human
- Counselor Toji | M | Bajoran
- Ensign Faye | Helm | F

Quotes:
"I don't care if they can talk-sing. We are to take the out the rest of them by any means necessary. It shouldn't take long. Our ship is only four, possibly five, decks high."
-- Captain Samya ("The Sound of Q-sic")

U.S.S. Tsunami (NCC-74336), Steamrunner-class

The U.S.S. Tsunami was the ship that uncovered the non-hidden, already-out-in-the-open annual conquering of Raatooras by the Klingons. Its commanding officer, after partaking in a forced-Winter Wonderland experience, later assisted a Klingon ship from an extra-dimensional tribble infestation that led the crew to be temporarily mutated as part-tribble. He then joined his co-commanding officers from Task Force Epsilon in rescuing Captain Seifer from an adrenaline-running, lens-flare-infused alternate Kelvin-timeline reality.

Crew:
- Captain Michael McCary | M | 3/4:Human-1/4:Klingon
- Commander Morris | First officer | M | Human
- Lieutenant Commander Deborah | Tactical & security | F | Human
- Lieutenant Ralph | Helm | M | Human
- Lieutenant Silana | Counselor | F | Human

Quotes:
"Your self-impregnating Tribble-venom is selfing us into Tribble!"
-- Captain McCary ("The Officer Exchange")

U.S.S. Valhalla, Odyssey-class

The U.S.S. Valhalla was a giant ship of class and sophistication supporting the elegance of the Federation. It helped stop a dying star in the Lukari system, attempted to save lives on the doomed G'arto Prime and assisted the defense of New Romulus when the Iconians attacked. All in a day's work!

Crew:
- Admiral Cid | M | Human
- Commander Raje | M | Saurian
- Lieutenant Commander Nova | Science | F | Human
- Lieutenant Arkane | Tactical | M | Tellarite
- Lieutenant Tetsu | Helm | M | Human
- Dawn | Science | F | Human
- Fuu | Engineer | F | Human
- April | Engineer | F | Human
- Suzumi | Engineer | F | Human

Quotes:
"Take us to our next mission, Tetsu. Something light-hearted, but serious about satisfying my expectations in impossible ways."
-- Admiral Cid ("Sunrise")

USS%20Kitana%202.jpg

U.S.S. Kitana, Vesta-class

The U.S.S. Kitana was a starship commanded by questionable sanity in a Universe of near-complete absurdity. It's been known to contest the Phoenix-X but has also had its share of trauma through Fek'lhri shenanigans, mutual abduction into Fluidic space and, later, artifact hunting and battles with the Breen. In addition, it crewed the time-displaced, power-punished and absent-minded Trelane.

Crew:
- Captain Terry | M | Human
- Lieutenant Commander Trelane | Chief engineer | M | Q (mortalized)
- Lieutenant Commander Hann | Tactical | M | Ferengi
- Lieutenant Britta | Helm | F | Human
- Pax

Quotes:
"I challenged Q-Junior's claim on his power— a claim that's obviously disputable considering he was once trapped on the U.S.S. Voyager— and then he transformed me into this beautifully grotesque thing. Isn't it wonderful?"
-- Captain Terry ("Winter Wonderland Celebrations (II)")

I.K.S. Rotog, Koloth-class

The I.K.S. Rotog was a tough little Bird-of-Prey, full of yellow-might and acetic acid. It managed the honorable and annual invasion of the planet Raatooras and its Arin'Sen people, attempted an officer exchange with the U.S.S. Tsunami, and ran its own operational limits to the bitter end in its contending with an infestation of out-universe tribble and their Mother Tribble, Troblor!

Crew:
- Captain Sigon | M | Klingon
- Lieutenant Commander Poroka | Chief Engineer | F | Poroka
- Lieutenant Commander Deborah | Security | F | Human
- Bekk Tars | Science

Quotes:
"Please, let this not be an obvious Arin'Sen revenge story. Despite the justice they'd be serving tenfold by your repetitive enslavements."
"I know! I even offered them the idea of that but, alas, their bones are as brittle as Ferengi knee caps."
-- Captain McCary & Captain Sigon ("The Officer Exchange")

U.S.S. Ragnarok, Pathfinder-class

The U.S.S. Ragnarok was a wild and sophisticated vessel of controlled chaos and irregularity. It's a ship and crew that has decrypted ancient artifacts, uncovered giant Thasian heads and untangled overlapping self-inflicted First Federation time incursions. Surely, that's got to count for something?

Crew:
- Captain Oroku Seifer | M | Trill (joined)
- Lieutenant Commander Moggs | Science | M | Caitian
- Lieutenant Aramaki | Tactical | M | Human
- Lieutenant Commander Winry | Chief engineer | F | Human
- Doctor Cetra | F | Human
- Lieutenant Edwards | Helm | F | Human
- Ensign Tomsin | Operations | M | Tellarite

Quotes:
"Although we have only been together for a short time, I know that you are the finest crew in the fleet and I would trust each of you with my life."
"That is crazy. How would you even just know that out of nowhere unless you’ve been time-traveling? Are you saying you’re from the future, Captain?"
-- Captain Oroku Seifer & Lieutenant Commander Moggs ("Department Heads")

I.K.S. Baetal, Kurak-class

The I.K.S. Baetal was a ship of wild and unkempt partygoing howlers and ruffians, transferred from the Rotog, turned calm, cool and collected. It fell victim to the aftereffects of a previous tribblefication, after which a Continuum sneeze blew naked Q all over, and it bore the weight of a dishonourable non-kill of Captain Menchez during a vengeful raid of the Kazon-Rokka. The lesson being: No more parties!

Crew:
- Captain Sigon | M | Klingon
- Lieutenant Commander Gozer | Tactical | M | Gorn
- Lieutenant Commander Poroka | Chief engineer | F
- Lieutenant Tenogh | Operations
- Bekk Tars | Science
- Lu'Kava
- Rannek

Quotes:
"According to Klingon Rule of Drinksquisition 34: Never dishonor a barrel of bloodwine, especially if it's been sitting in your cargo hold for more than a week."
"That's not a thing you guys do!"
-- Captain Sigon & Captain McCary ("Apparitions")
