How did you decide on your avatar names...

TREVANIAN is one of my favorite writers. Figured if I used "james morrow" or "christopher moore" or "harlan ellison" it would just be confusing.

Vasquez Rocks is a location in California which has been used many times in Star Trek so, I thought it would be a good username for this board. It's also been seen in many other tv and film productions like...

The Twilight Zone
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Space: Above and Beyond
Sliders
The Bionic Woman
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Dracula
Blazing Saddles

When I had my first email account with Juno it was with my name. I forgot the password and had to created another. At the time I was writing a SF story that has partial inspiration from Star Trek. I've since decided to write another story based off that poor original and got new inspirations. It basically will have elements of ST:TMP and the Fifth Element in it, a mix up of the two. The main character is Ryan Armstrong (Ryan because I liked the name because of the Hunt for Red October and Armstrong well can you guess?) The interplanetary entity is called the Koinos Christian Republic or KCR. When we go back to our regular usernames I'll go back to the symbol I created for it. The specific one I used was actually a revision done by J. Allen of my orginal. Many thanks to J. for it because it looks great.

I was reading "Uhura's Song," one of my favorite Trek novels, at the time I registered here. My original name was JinxtoEeiauo, named for a felinoid character in the novel who is befriended by Uhura. The "to Eeiauo" is a naming convention for the species.

When we were given an opportunity to modify our names, I changed it to JiNX-01 to reflect my fondness for the novel and my love of Enterprise.

And right now, I'm Jinxed13 for Halloween.

Hey, another fan of Uhura's Song--very glad to see that!!! :)

My original name is Nerys Ghemor, if you have difficulty interpreting the explanation in my Location field. It means, "Nerys Ghemor on Cardassia Prime," and is written in my version of the Cardassian language. The name itself is a tribute to the episodes "Second Skin" and "Ties of Blood and Water," and the close relationship that sprung up between Tekeny Ghemor and Kira Nerys.

My Halloween name, however, is Nerys Dukat, for reasons of creepiness that should be immediately obvious. :angryrazz: <--(The closest emote I could find to somebody trying to spit something out / puke.)

Well, I like Star Trek, but I'm more of a Star Wars fan, and I spend more time in the General forums than I do in the Trek ones (aside from ENT), so I ended up changing my name to Skywalker because I hated my lame original name (Randy1012).

I was a fan of the show Seven Days when I thought up my username which is named after the time travel project in the show

i took my name from Mackenzie Calhoun, captain of the USS Excalibur in the New Frontier novels and a captain so cool, he could only exist in novels.

I have a pet plecostomus.

Me tooo! I love them! Tho u have to be careful about the water quality or they will leave the tank... :(

Mine isn't my name per se- but I wanted something real and close to my name while not giving my name out to the internet... (I became Marie to the ST world while still in school... possibly middle school). Not that the online world has gotten any safer.

Lately I've been using weirder names, ones from the DS9R novels... Jem'Hadar names... but I caught myself and am making an effort to be less strange. ;)

I used to have an Elf character -- pointed ears and slanted eyebrows! -- in a computer game named Taerwynd. I just "Vulcanized" it a little bit and made it T'Aerwynd.

I am fond of referencing trek without verifying details in Memory Alpha, in case you wonder why I'm misspelled. Always liked the idea of a Vulcan getting into baseball and I Love Lucy and figured it was obscure enough that I wouldnt' have to # it like Kirk444 or some such crap.

Ohhh, and here I always thought it referred to the Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral!
