Spoilers Game of Thrones - Season 7

From the new teaser for tonight's episode:

Can't wait. :D

I don't think Arya is beyond redemption, .

Still--there is a part of me that half expects Sansa- (when the series is over)--to turn to Arya--only to see Jaqen H'ghar looking back--Arya Stark existing no more.

The perfect way for Cersi to go out? Bran uses some type of mental power to have the throne deconstruct into its component swords--dumping her onto the floor. The swords all point inwards towards her--and implode.

Also if Dany is going into real battles from now they might think about forging armor for her..

That's not going to protect her from that medieval version of the SA-2 Guideline that almost finished her best asset.

It's Drogon

The last time I saw a line of wheeled items on a road get slagged--it was Gulf War One with a very different dragon doing a line drop:

Thanks, no--I'll take the lizard. Even if it is the WMD of that world.

I'm surprised the kling--I mean the Dothraki soldier went for a horse's leg. I would have thought that they felt horses sacred. The sell-sword going for a horse leg--that I can see.

I loved this episode mainly because Robert's bastard is back and he is wielding a big hammer just like his dad.

I wonder how long it will take Sam to realise exactly what Gilly told him.

Bronn must be a pretty good swimmer.

I actually felt a little sorry for Dickon Tarly.

Sam, you fool, the annulment! I sure hope Gilly packed that book for some light reading on the road.

Another great episode, even if the timescale continues to be compressed. I don't mind the speed of ravens, but damn Davos went from Dragonstone to King's Landing and back to Dragonstone (close to each other, fine) and then all the way to Eastwatch (not even remotely) in a single episode. Plus, Jorah sure got up to Dragonstone fast. I swear, if Sam gets to the Wall by the end of the next episode by wagon... :p

Jon sure is putting his duty as "Protector of the Realm" in high regard because he didn't even consider going back to Winterfell to see Arya and Bran. And he was quick to belief Bran's current abilities without a second thought (likewise everyone else in that meeting). The far traveling and quick acceptances of strange things are probably going to play out better in the books, but it sure is rough here in the show.

I'm glad Tyrion had his reunion with Jaime, although just not in the way I expected. I find it rather hard to believe Jaime and Bronn were able to swim so far away underwater with that armor and undetected, moments after Jaime tried to kill Daenerys. It was also a little odd that Tyrion didn't even acknowledge that moment. I'm a little sad that Tyrion didn't really have a reunion with Bronn, but I guess there wasn't enough time.

Not surprised Cersei knew that Bronn was contacted by Tyrion and set up the meeting, but I was surprised she allowed it to happen. I guess she's learning how to control her rage and focus on the bigger picture of maintaining her power in the long run, even if she is a fool about mercenaries over her own loyal army. But at the same time, she has grown even colder as seen with her threat against Jaime about betrayal. I wonder if her pregnancy is real or just a scheme on her brother lover. I also wonder if this cold threat will finally push Jaime to come to his senses about her.

I figured Littlefinger was manipulating Arya from the get go. I worry that Arya is going to do something foolish and hurts not only Sansa's position at Winterfell, but also her relationship with her sister. The sooner she realizes she's being fooled by that silver tongue and finally puts an end to his machinations, the better. Bran, step up already!

The mighty band of Jon, Jorah, Tormund, Thoros, Gendry (complete with War hammer!), Beric, adn the Hound (we're never going to get Clegane Bowl at this rate) is going on a daring trip. I will be shocked if any less than two of them die (and for good in Beric's case). Jorah's wishful glance at Daenerys before leaving feels rather telling in particular.

Cersei telling Jaime not to betray her again was a warning, not a threat.

There is far less "distance" between them than people want to believe there is.

Also, she is totally preggers for reals.

Two more things come to mind:

It wasn't mentioned at Eastwatch, but I sure hope Jon brought dragonglass with him and shared it with his companions. Otherwise, he's a complete idiot.

I loved Davos' comment about expecting Gendry to still be rowing. I can't remember if it was the producers or just the fans who kept making that joke, but I liked how it showed up in the series.

Joe Dempsie himself Twittered about his rowing at one point

Ah, that's right, I remember that!

Damn, that was fast!

I would've also excepted The Magnificent Seven.

That would've been a much better allusion, although Suicide Squad works, too, because of the title.

A close up of the note Arya found. It's the letter Sansa wrote to Robb, under duress from Cersei in season 1.

Ahhh...that's right. I paused the episode to read it but I failed to make the connection. Somehow I managed to miss see Joffrey's name.

Hopefully, Sansa quickly realizes what's going on and defuses the situation by pointing out she did it under duress because of Cersei. Arya would surely believe that.

In fairness to Jon, him accepting Bran's powers makes a lot of sense. He has literally seen stranger things, and it could be argued is himself one of those stranger things. And I think everybody else is just going on the "Trust Jon" bandwagon.

And it sure looks like they finally did it, albeit in the background and in a very sneaky way that only the audience can catch. Come on Bran/Sam, you guys need to put your heads together and bring out some very interesting truths...

They legitimized Jon! It was right there. And it actually raises some interesting questions. Elia Martell had a child, also killed during the sack of King's Landing at the end of Robert's Rebellion. That's the whole reason the Martells were pissed at the Lannisters. How does Rheagar get his marriage to Elia annulled if they had a child together? Makes me wonder if a character from the novels that the show dropped is exactly who says he is, but still manages to not be a true Targaryan heir.

Rheagar married Lyanna. Jon is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. I can't believe they finally did it. And I give them kudos for finding a way to both do it and not do it simultaneously. Jon is Schroedinger's Targaryan.[/SPOILER}

It really is getting compressed at this point.

I think we expected a big battle because of the similarity in name to Hard Home. This was more of a set up episode.

Fair points on both counts. I did forget that Jon has seen warging.

I was a little surprised that Gendry didn't mention Arya to Jon.
Yeah, that disappointed me, too, especially since they managed to squeeze in so many connections between all of the Gang of Seven. I also had hoped Jorah would notice his old sword with Jon.

plot armor makes real armor float i guess
That bothered me less than the two of them being able to get away from Daenerys' army and no one commenting on what happened to the guy who tried to kill the queen.

This show really knows how to get me on edge. After all the catharsis of last weeks episode, they're starting to ratchet up the tension that's probably going to end up with Arya taking the black or something.
I was actually surprised Littlefinger managed to manipulate her, but on reflection he's always been good at leveraging what motivates people against them and Arya's sense of self was the one thing even the faceless men couldn't kill.

I don't know, two long trips taking about the same time seems reasonable. This show had never been good at showing the passage of time and with good reason. If they did, they'd be flashing up "6 days later", "4 weeks later", "2 months later" between every other scene.
At this point I'll gladly accept a more brisk pace in exchange for the lack of a clear chronology.

Jon sure is putting his duty as "Protector of the Realm" in high regard because he didn't even consider going back to Winterfell to see Arya and Bran.

Given that they made the journey by sea that would have been quite the detour.

Jorah's wishful glance at Daenerys before leaving feels rather telling in particular.

My read on that scene was that he knows there's something between Jon and Danny and deliberately stood aside. With or without romance, a possible solution to the North not bending the knee is a marriage between the those two and Sir Friendzone should be able to see that even if they don't yet.

I admit, I could be reading *way* too much into that.

I was a little surprised that Gendry didn't mention Arya to Jon.

I had a similar reaction. Perhaps he thought Arya might be dead and didn't want to bring it up? That or he mentioned her off-screen.

Fair points on both counts. I did forget that Jon has seen warging.

He didn't just see warging, one of them tried to gouge his eyes out with a bird. It's how he got those scars. ;)
As for everyone else at that table: Danny was cursed by a witch and dealt with the Warlocks of Qarth. Varys heard the voice in the flames. Davos witness the birth of that shadow demon thing. Unless I'm forgetting something I think Tyrion is the only one with no direct experience other than the Dragons.
