Favorite DS9 one-liners?

"People can find a way to justify any action, no matter how evil." - Kira Nerys

"I thought I'd say hello first, and then take the office. But we can do this in any order you'd like." - Ben Sisko

Quark : Must have taken a wrong turn.
Captain Sisko : It looks that way.

And Nog whispering "Exploding?" in "For the Uniform"

  • Omet'iklan : I am First Omet'iklan, and I am dead. As of this moment, we are all dead. We go into battle to reclaim our lives. This we do gladly, for we are Jem'Hadar. Remember: victory is life.

    Jem'Hadar : Victory is life!

    [the Jem'Hadar march out]

Weyoun : Such a delightful people.

[O'Brien turns to face the assembled Federation officers]

O'Brien : I am Chief Miles Edward O'Brien. I am very much alive, and I intend to stay that way.

Sisko : Amen! Let's get it done!

A funny one from "Accession"

QUARK: "Congratulations. I remember when my nephew Nog was a baby. Cutest thing you ever saw. You know babies. Every little thing they pick up goes straight into their ears. I used to love reading to him. You know, See Brak acquire. Acquire, Brak, acquire."

And a more serious one:
KIRA: "That's the thing about faith. If you don't have it, you can't understand it, and if you do, no explanation is necessary."

And an exchange:
(Kira puts a clay 'bird' on Sisko's table)
KIRA: "I want you to have this. It's an original Kira Nerys. Could be veeery valuable one day."
SISKO: "I hear she didn't make many."

They should do a line of fake kids books like "See Brak Acquire" and "The Little Runabout That Could"

Translated from the original Ferengi by Lebos, son of Jib. Kind of like "Charlie the Choo Choo", from the Dark Tower series...

Maybe a few Flotter stories as well, of course designed to teach little ones sciences. If 9-year-olds are expected to take calculus in the Trek-verse, I expect preschoolers are taught the water cycle and forest regrowth.

From "The Ascent":
QUARK: "I can't believe it. I've been walking for three days and I haven't seen a single beetle. I could really go for a beetle right now. Any kind of beetle, just as long as it had a little meat on it."

Worf: We do not discuss it with outsiders.

<About the discrepancy between TOS and TNG era Klingons. As if the writers were telling us to stop being obsessed about such irrelevant details and just go with it while acknowledging the discrepancy at the same time. Brilliant line.>

From the same episode, even though it's not really a single one liner, I enjoyed the scene where Bashir tries to convince himself he must meet Lt. Watley the next day or else he'll never become his own great-grandfather, and hence never be born. The thought of which seems to amuse O'brien (or he was just laughing about Bashir's bizarre rationalisation).

Colm Meaney's delivery of "Are we ever!" tickles me.
