Favorite DS9 one-liners?

Oh, I’m sure it isn’t appropriate at all....but then, I hate to be appropriate. – Dax to Arjin

I’ve found that when it comes to doing what’s best for you, you humanoids have the distressing habit of doing the exact opposite. --Odo to Sisko

Why is it when you smile, I want to leave the room? --Kira to Dukat

Root beer….this is the end of Ferengi civilization. --Quark

SISKO: Hey, Jake that was a hell of a game! A hell of a game!
JAKE: I gave up ten runs.
SISKO: They're Vulcans. If they were humans you'd have held them to just two or three.
JAKE: When you put it that way.

Humans inferior; Vulcans superior.

"You fight well... for a tailor."
Lt. Cmdr. Worf, "BROKEN LINK"

Worf didn't get as many one-liners on DS9 as he did on TNG because he was given more to do with depth on DS9. He got some on TNG, too, but not nearly as much as DS9.

Speaking if Worf one-liners, among my favorites besides the obvious from "Qpid", is from FIRST CONTACT.

"Assimilate this."

Worf: "Good tea; nice house."

Worf: "Die."

I love those lines, and very funny you mention those particular ones.

There was a panel at the Trek Track this DragonCon that was called 'Wheel of Subjects', or words to that effect. Basically, the audience chose subjects, they were written down on a wheel, and someone spins and the we discuss that subject.

One of them was "Worf One-Liners", and those exact ones were mentioned as examples. So clearly, people love your choice of one-liners. (Myself included. :) )

Death to the opposition! --Worf, in "Take me out to the holosuite"

Because he has the courage of a berserker cat and he has the heart of a poet. -- Dax, about Worf

Perhaps, in the end, it will be all of you that have to adapt to me. --Worf to Dax

This is important, you and I....things change, but not this. --Sisko to Jake

[Quotes threads are always a favorite with me....can't think of any strong ones for O'Brien or Bashir though]

Hm...

On TNG, he was saddled with relatively minor character development (minor compared to DS9, anyhow), but in exchange he became a walking one-liner dispensing machine. Not bad.

"I love my wife." -O'Brien
"But you like me more." - Bashir

Sums up male bonding pretty well.

Also, their exchange in the teaser of "HIPPOCRATIC OATH" was funny.

Well, but technically that’s not a one-liner.

If it's open to dialogue, this one is similar:

Blood, pain, sacrifice, anguish, and death.
Sounds like marriage all right. –Worf and Bashir

I’m a doctor, not a botanist. -- Bashir to Dax

My mother taught me if you try to combine talking and eating, you’ll end up doing neither very well. --O’Brien to Bashir

It’ not easy being funny wearing these teeth -- O’Brien to Worf

A couple more humorous lines from O’Brien--

"Think of it, Julian…if this works, you’ll be able to irritate hundreds of people you’ve never even met." – O’Brien to Bashir

"Well the truth is, he’s an extraordinary person-- a real sense of honor and integrity, great sense of humor, warm, caring…..you’re sure he’s not going to read this?" --O’Brien to Zimmerman

A few more serious quotes –

"There is no greater enemy than one’s own fears." --Martok to Worf

"Before you can be loyal to another, you must be loyal to yourself." –Bashir to Garak

"This is not a fight…it’s the search for the truth." –Sisko to Ch’Pok
