Fans of the "V" novel(s)... Some info please.

The Second Generation is pretty good, although you can tell it was meant to be on tv given the pacing.

Chill out. :)

Don't tell me to chill out.

I asked a simple question and everyone...YOU INCLUDED...was talking about everything but what I asked about.

My being annoyed and asking for us to get back on topic is understandable and in no way warranted you telling me to chill out.

In other words, "Cut it out and answer the question or stop muddying up my thread".

Since you FINALLY did after I insisted, the point is made...

That is, the point is made that you could have said it simply, instead of giving me references that I'd have to wade thru. ;)

Might I show you to one of the storage areas of the mothership?

It is the nature of conversations to drift and evolve. This is a public forum where lots of people gather to talk about all sorts of things that interest them. It's not an information service for your own exclusive benefit. Anyway, your question was answered eight posts ago, so what are you complaining about?

The thread is about Robin's pregnancy. Other things would be off topic.

Since I started the thread it seems I'd have something to say about things getting WAY off topic and the question not being answered.

No, the question was NOT answered except by vague reference and linked material to go thru, the answer maybe being SOMEWHERE if you look in the right place.

Not until just before your post did a plain answer arrive.

If a definitive answer is that important to you, just buy the book and you'll have your answer there.

Also, for future reference, if you only want the answer to one specific question, don't give your topic a generic title like "some info please", and don't ask a totally different question in the OP such as "the novels ignore The Final Battle and the weekly series, is this right?"

Robin's pregnancy was ignored in V: The Second Generation. However Kenneth Johnson's epilogue to AC Crispin's V: The Original Miniseries does cover the pregnancy.

Essentially Robin gives birth to a baby girl who has both reptilian and human features. Basically a human face and scale where the hair should be. She's not the Starchild by any means. Just a hybrid. Robin doesn't appear in the sequel nor do her sisters or child. Robert Maxwell has a minor role.

In TSG there are three hybrids. Ted who is Willie and Harmy's son. Ruby who is Julie's daughter. And Jon who is an orphan. They are our Elizabeth surrogates. Treated kinda like the Tenctonese from Alien Nation. I quite liked TSG. Hope Johnson's able to secure funding for the movie.

THANK YOU for your answer. This is far better than the one already (finally) given, and I sincerely appreciate it.

Guys, this is an example of how to answer a question. With plain spoken information.

When someone asks about the color of apples, you tell them 'They vary in color. Usually red, but some are actually green...'

You don't tell them about all the books you've read on growing fruit, or where the best bananas can be purchased in your neighborhood.

Kirk...

One thing, tho'. Julie had a kid too? Any mention of who the father was?

That's not what these boards are for, telling people to go get their info from movies and books themselves, so BUZZZZZ! You lose.

And how long do you want a title to be?

And since when must the entire question be in the title? Isn't that what the opening post itself is for?

Again, thanks for playing, but you gave the wrong answer.

In the opening post, it was plainly asked what happened with Robin's pregnancy in the follow-up novel(s). Maybe you didn't read the entire thing?

That's what we do. We read people's questions before answering them.

Please see Admiral James Kirk's reply as a point of reference. :D

This site isn't Yahoo Answers or Ask Metafilter. The point of these boards is to have discussions, like conversations, you know? And this is what happens in normal conversations. Sometimes you get people saying they don't know, sometimes something you say makes people think of something else that's related, sometimes you get people suggesting places to look to get the info you're after.

If all you want is specific answer, ask a specific question. The best place to do that is on one of those "ask a question" websites that are all over the internet, not a Star Trek message board. Or better yet, buy the book if it's that important to you. There's no need to dump all over the people here who were trying to be helpful to you.

The title of this topic could have been Fans of the "V" novel(s): Robin's pregnancy. That's the same length as the topic title you chose and it would have made it absolutely clear to everyone that you just wanted to talk about that one aspect of the novels.

I read the entire thing, and as I mentioned in my previous post, you asked an entirely different question at the start of your post.

"I don't know if there's more than one novel or not, but apparently it/them follow the original mini, but ignore The Final Battle and the weekly series. ... Is this right?"

In fact, I could say you're asking two different questions there: 1) Is there more than one V novel? and 2) Do they ignore The Final Battle and the weekly series? Again, if you want a concise answer, learn how to ask a concise question.

And in the interest of being concise, isn't there some rule/custom about not doing multiple consecutive posts, as well?

:techman: Excellent points Level 2 Diagnostic. Obviously some chilling out does need to occur.
