Episdoes you liked for a strange reason

The Magnificent Ferengi: I find this whole episode hilarious and laughed my ass off at two parts. The first is when they're practicing the rescue on the holosuite and things look bad so that one psycho shoots Moogie. I also love the reaction of Yelgrun when the jerry-rigged Keevan is walking toward them. "What have they DONE to him?" Iggy Pop's performance in this episode was also funny as hell.

Civil Defense: I love Gul Dukat's smugness in this episode how he's walking around with phaser blasts going off everywhere and his program assumes he's been taken hostage by the Bajoran militia which initiates the auto-destruct sequence

DS9: Far beyond the Stars. I really like that one because you see the cast together playing completely different characters.

As I grow older and older and I take Trek less and less seriously in some ways and more and more seriously in others, I find my fondness for "The Gamestetrs of Triskelion" grows and grows.

Strange reasons, huh? Ok.

TOS- "The Apple" --gotta love that strange jungle noise in the background.

TNG-"Conspiracy" --eating the grub worms and the exploding head.

VOY-"Barge of the Dead" -- the whole surreal feel while on the barge.

afterimage is a good ep when sisko tells dax he'll talk to worf and she says dont do it you intimidate him . siscos reaction is priceless

"Genesis" from the 7th Season of TNG.

Is it supposed to be a good episode? A bad episode? A guilty pleasure?

Whatever you consider it to be...I like it! :D

Ditto! And I don't care what it's supposed to be. It was the only TNG episode I loved without any reservation!

I want to know, is there a Trek episode that you absolutely love because of one, strange, weird reason? I ask this because I recently watched the VOY episode "11:59" and I remember when it first was being advertised, I dreaded that perhaps they'd go along with the false perception that 2000 was the first year of the new millennium and that somehow they'd perpetuate this inacacuracy.

Then, the episode aired and I nearly jumped with joy and told everybody in the house at the time, when the episode stated that the Millennium Gate was to be built before the new millennium, in 2001. It made me even more happy when somebody commented that, while some people celebrated the millennium in 2000, others were celebrating the REAL millennium in 2001. That just gave me a warm feeling inside.

I was in high school at the time, and had written an article in my school's newspaper regarding the 2000/2001 inaccuracy, and I was really against those stupid t-shirts that said "01/01/00 - The New Millennium" or something. They really got me angry. Anything that misinforms pisses me off, really. :p

So yeah...any episodes you guys loved for a weird reason?

Sorry to go all nerdy ( or anti-nerdy as you may soon see) but the people that went on about how 2001 is the beginning of the millennium were also missing the point.
True it was the actual millennium but it was the calendar going over from 1999 to 2000 that was the big deal. I remember telling my pretentious friend who loved correcting people (reminds me of a certain write who posts here, or is it whom posts here? :p) that he can go ahead and have a big party for the arrival of 2001...he'll just look late.

"where silence has lease."

the set-up (and resolution) are pretty much standard-issue trek fare, but the execution is fantastic. a very weird, dark, and effectively spooky episode - and possibly the best auto-destruct sequence ever.

the weird thing is, i HATED it on first run.

I think Where Silence has Lease was one of the first episodes I ever saw. Scared the crap out of me to say the least! It still has the power to creep me out. I guess I like it because I still suffer a little bit of trauma because of it :D

Let's just say I tend to cut against the grain. :)

Glad to see I wasn't the only one that found that part hilarious. :guffaw: The part where rom cuts his moogie to see if she was a changeling was pretty funny as well as the Vorta's reaction to being shot "I HATE ferengi". Now that I think about it this is probably my favorite Ferengi episode.

I liked the begining of "Sins of the Father" where Kurn is addressing the bridge. I just find his speech and Wesley's reaction to be quite humorous.
