Maybe they ended up in that white universe with black stars where everyone ages backwards.

You say that like it would be a bad thing. This season has been pretty terrible.

It was stated on screen as a hypothesis that USS Discovery jumped into MU it perhaps switched places with ISS Discovery. But I don't buy it. Just because it was stated on screen I no longer believe it was foreshadowing anything. We also had a tribble on board at same time as a klingon spy. If that gun didn't fire, I doubt anything stated before is a foreshadow of anything to come.

I don't know if it does. Of all the USS Discovery crew, most of their MU counterparts were serving on ISS Cheron or ISS Shenzhou. The only one who is actually on ISS Discovery is Captain Killy, and we did get to see her in action as Tilly masquarading as Killy. So what exactly does ISS Discovery have to offer to us anyway?

She's a Captain from the Mirror Universe. What do you expect her to do in the PU other than Killying her way out :sigh::sigh:

Is there a reason he should?

They're in an apparently devastating war with the Klingons. The admiralty might not want to advertise the fact that one of their ships has apparently gone rogue, especially with Klingon spies lurking about. And, I'm guessing that the whole alternate universe discovery will be classified for some reason.

Kirk is too busy obsessing over clouds to keep up with current events.

Obviously nothing of use, as even with its presence in the Prime Universe Alpha Quadrant, the Federation still lost the war. (Perhaps the I.S.S. Discovery got blown up and the only survivors were Captain Killy and Prime Lorca, who was serving as toilet cleaning specialist :D )

Captain Killy is still in the MU and racing to Earth to claim the crown.

I can't help but think it's a multi-verse... not just MU and PU. Maybe Stamets was worried about what the universe would be like if they didn't get back with the cloaking intel and ended up taking them to a universe where that was a reality (although nine months in the future to boot). Doubtful but it would be sad to just see two universes with all the possibilities out there.

I'm assuming it will be classified with the Spore Drive.

I think The War Within probably refers to the debate over whether or not the Federation should use unethical Terran tactics in order to win.

You know, the classic 'this makes us no better than our enemy', or 'the price of victory is our soul'.

How is Starfleet going to keep the Discovery crew quiet? Have them 'disappear' in the heat of war? Very convenient.
