Deep Space 9 hasn't aired on UK television since end of century

Yep BBC2 18:00 the perfect after school watching the likes of TOS, TNG, DSN, Buck Rogers etc...

...The Simpsons, Stingray, UFO, The Champions, Sliders, Buffy, Captain Scarlet, Randall & Hopkirk, Space:1999, The Outer Limits, Thunderbirds...

If I remember correctly The Outer Limits (original version) only ever had one full transmission on the BBC back in 1980/81 and that was at the ridiculous times of 1240am or so on a Friday or Saturday evening! Never once in the 600pm slot!

Too bad Channel 4 tried to get in on the act by showing Angel at 6pm. If only they'd actually watched the show before scheduling it...

I was thinking of the 'new' series from the 90s. Just looked it up on Genome (a very useful listing for what was shown on the BBC and when) and it seems that it was only shown post-watershed, with slots ranging 9pm up to gone midnight. Not sure how I associated that with the 6pm slot. :)

Lois and Clark (shown as The New Adventures of Superman in the UK) was another mainstay of the cult slot.

Ooh, that's reminded me; C4 showed some black and white episodes of The Avengers in a 90s 6pm slot too.

Here's a trailer advertising the September 1995 arrival of DS9 on BBC2:

On second showing maybe, but it had a decent prime time BBC1 Saturday night slot at first.

Yes, while BBC2 showed The New Avengers.

I remember that well.

I seem to remember it had a lot of slots over the years, starting out prime-time Saturday night, but also Saturday morning kid slots, the weekday 6pm slot, weekday lunchtime slots. Looking at the Genome listings it was still being shown by the BBC as recently as 2005.

Here's the BBC2 trailer for A Man Alone;
