Dunno why, but it seems to me that the Shenzou is NCC-122T not 7. Maybe its a transport of some kind? Also, Burnham suggests to hit the alien ship neck...wasn't that part of the theory of Shenzou and Klingon ship becoming one? And she could have said OWN command, but I thinkI've heard OLD command?(I know it diesn't make sense but still). Anyway.
Great production values, total preboot of the era aesthetics. Love the uniforms, Soniqua delivers her lines like Tuvok did, imo, so if you think he did a sloppy job, then sure, so does she. Also she's "universally appealing" beautified imo. It is clear that along with Sharma they'll prolly be major eye-candy of the series too, like T'Pol and Hoshi were for ENT(I'll enjoy that, though I know some like to see things otherwise).
She can't be the sole survivor of the ship if it gets destroyed. What about Saru? What about Nambue?(at least I thought Nambue is the guy with the side implants, though what a doctor's doing in the bridge I have no idea). Idea: I know they've said that Saru is a never before seen species, but...what if Saru is Mizarian? The make-up is vaguely close(excluding the color) to be re-imagined and could explain why Mizarians avoided war and were always conquered. Also why they were super intelligent(if they were custom-made and had advanced knowledge of death and what it means).
Seems like she creates with her actions the incident with the Klingons. Maybe Georgiou(not good acting for Yeoh, like she was sick at the time and it affected her, cause she performed well in her Bond, Crouching THD, and other movies)is looking to retire and intending her to be her successor but then she screws up with the Klingons and gets demoted or something dunno. I think it was said at some point that Georgiou is an admiral? Frain was good but not sure if Vulcan feel there. Too small sample to judge though.
Overall, If one disregards the previous materials it will probably be enjoyable.
