I saw it in the theater today. Much like The Wolverine, the dramatic elements in this movie worked and were a nice departure in the Avenger series of movies. Everything else was the quality you'd expect from Marvel, but the quality of production was superb. Rather than feeling like a comicbook movie, it felt like a action/drama with comicbook elements sprinkled in. Until the end, of course, when the comicbook elements came in with a downpour but it was not a distraction at all.

I was worried at the start of the film that I was in one of those theaters. You know, the one that has teenage punks that shout sarcastic things in attempts to be funny but they're just funny to their friends. Well, much to my surprise, they clammed up and actually watched the film in silence with the rest of the crowd. Near the end, when the Winter Soldier pulls Cap out of the water, I heard the obnoxious teenage boys choking up with emotion. Brought a smile to my face.

I might have heard someone tearing up and sniffling towards the end behind me in the upper rows of the screening room at my second viewing.

Speaks well of the work on screen, I think.

I was just hit by a thought...
What if Fury really died in the attack but was later resurrected by that vial of alien stuff from agents of shield?

Takes a while to work that stuff, and it wasn't just the Kree booster shot that brought Coulson back from the seriously dead... You remember what Miracle Max said about death?

But, I thought that no matter all the other damage, that Fury decided to fake his death before the surgery started, because hose Doctors did not have the authority to make that decision themselves, and it's not like someone could have told the Doctor to fake Fury's death half way through the surgery while every bugger and his dog was watching and the cameras were rolling.

Or I suppose it could be a contingency set up years ago, that all S.H.I.E.L.D. Doctors are supposed to fake the Director's death, if he comes in half murdered, rather than send him to ICU for recovery where it's rediculously easy to finish off the job by fully murdering him.

^I heard they wanted Oscorp in Avengers but I can't find any articles on F4 yet.

Spoiler that. I've seen it all but this isn't a Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. board, there may be some that haven't seen AoS.

The serum cures all biological damage in moments, Fury was still badly hurt when they went to see him.

bbjeg, even if intrinsical goes back and puts his speculation into spoiler code, it will still be quoted in your post sans-code.

If I noticed that he spoiled it, I would have edit the post too but it would be redundant before hand.

Finally saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier yesterday. And on Saturday night too! The movie is definitely my favorite or second favorite in the MCU.

My apologies, I was half asleep when I posted that. I had intended to post in the MCU spoiler thread, but apparently posted to this one instead. Sorry again.

I find the "Hail HYDRA" an unnecessary BWAA-HAA-HAA - but I guess Pierce and Sitwell didn't say it.

(that I can recall)
I agree about the "Heil" we are lead to believe that for 70 years there have been sleeper agents secretively passing a Nazi salute among themselves in these great numbers. Okay hydra choose from psychological profiles but so many working for the good suddenly presented with the Nazi image and not backing out seems weird. It is a major strength the X-Man franchise has over the MCU at this point.

Okay, we're doing this?

HYDRA really aren't that Nazi anymore.

I'm also not sure what X-Men has to do with it. Is it also one of the strengths Twilight has over it or is there something specific I'm missing?
