Spoilers Canon, Continuity, and Pike's Accident

Don't think so. His future flash ends with the chair.
That's the irony of the show. He thinks he's doomed to suffering in the chair forever, when really he'll be taken to Talos and live out the rest of his life in paradise. Some variation of that will be the ending of SNW, I'm certain of it.
Yeah, his visions basically end with the accident and a glimpse of his fate. He doesn't know about Spock doing his thing.
I do think there's some kind of oddities since we've expanded this story though. "Pike goes to Talos and lives his love Vina happily ever after."
I guess it doesn't work out with Batel...
Honestly, if Pike can trust telling Una and even the freaking kid torturing Alora (who I also recall Pike literally had unprotected sex with, Batel who?) about what he knows but not Batel, they already have issues.
Can't believe I'm actually responding to this, but...
1. Who says it was unprotected with Alora? Do we know what safe sex looks like in the 2250s? Because I missed that.
2. It seems to me that Pike and Batel had a relationship of convenience until late in season 2. That's when they got serious, primarily because the writers were going to put her at risk at the end of the season.
We know that there's a shot that Sisko failed to take in DS9 AND seemingly it's something Picard doesn't practice in the 24th century, which you can reasonably conclude from a certain episode of TNG and Picard Season 3.
Also circumstantial evidence indicates David Marcus was also unplanned, but this isn't conclusive to be fair.
Talosian Keeper: Captain Pike, a visitor named Elder Gamal who claimed to be an old acquaintance of yours informed us that the planet Majalis has a new First Servant, the son of Minister Alora. Elder Gamal apologized for being unable to prevent said child from ascending to the position of First Servant. Does this mean anything to you?
Vina: Why did you tell him that? The emotional response was so strong it snapped Chris out of our illusion and now all he's doing is beeping "No" over and over again in that wheelchair of his!!!
Pike: Beep beep! Beep beep! Beep beep!

Pike and Batel never struck me as a good relationship. It was nice and convenient and Pike went back and forth on his interest but her interest seemed geared more toward career.
But, even in Episode 1 I doubted their relationship strength.
They should just have Pike tell Batel everything about what he saw, and then have Batel dump him because she doesn't want to be we with a cripple (even though it hasn't happened yet). We need to show this. As someone who's been rejected because of my disability (and a relatively minor one that can be managed by hearing aids), I would a thousand times want to see disabled people's struggles on tv in a brutally honest manner.
First, sorry to hear that. That sucks.
But second... I feel like that's quite un-Star Trekish. I would expect exactly the opposite, Pike tells Batel everything, and she's totally accepting of it. "Positive vision of the future" and all that.
I'm not sure that Star Trek is really the place for "brutally honest". Star Trek is, or at least should be, about the positive. A beacon of hope that things don't need to be the way they are.
I feel like may almost the opposite could work, where Pike tells Batel everything... and then HE breaks it off, telling her that he doesn't want to saddle her with that burden. She might be like "I don't care, i'll do it", but he refuses and lets her go. (Maybe a bit of my own psychology going in there... i've had this discussion with my fiancee... if I were ever to be disabled in dramatic way to the point she would essentially need to be caretaker, i've told her I want her to move on. I don't want to anyone to have to give up their life for mine.)
Batel would never do that. She has feelings, she's not a cold-hearted monster.
That said, I always thought Batel and Pike would have broken up after Una's trial, since Batel was the prosecutor. But if they can keep things going even after that, then their relationship would appear to be solid.
Yeah, I hate to be a pessimist, but that's where my money is going.
She did get quite a bit of quick character development. In nuTrek that generally does mean they are going to bite it.
I'm still holding onto my prediction... the twist of the whole situation is that the Gorn ship that shows up and abducts the crew is actually there to help. They just operate in an alien way. Their claiming the planet is really intended to be more of a quarantine. They don't HAVE to reproduce like that, they have other methods, but there are those among the Gorn who prefer to do it the old fashioned way and immature Gorn are generally out of the control and act on instinct. The Gorn abducted the crew to save them and perform a procedure to remove the nascent Gorn without killing them.
The Gorn ship that arrives are "good guys". They're trying to clean up the mess.
It adds an interesting layer... the Gorn that was stalking Chapel in the wreckage of the other ship wasn't trying to kill her... he was trying to rescue her...
My belief that Batel is finished after the first episode is mostly based on her social media presence. Most guess stars gave been pretty open about when they're in Toronto. Whereas Melanie Scrofano seemed to be filming her Wynonna Earp movie while season 3 was being shot.
Now I don't necessarily think she'll be killed off. What I think is a possibility is that Pike knows what has to happen to him and has accepted his fate. He may push Batel away, not only in an effort to spare her the hardship of being with him when he's injured, but to make it easier for himself. It'd be a lot easier to accept your horrible fate if you weren't with someone you love. Having someone to "live for" just makes it even harder for Pike.
