It makes Trip look really bad. But it still gets debated over 20 years later, and that is one of the marks of a good episode.

I say it makes everyone but Trip (and Charles) look bad. But that's just me.

Saving "The Expanse". Yes, I thought it was dumb as that the Enterprise now had the same phaser/photon torpedo armament as 200 years later. But that didn't change the explosive opening, and the shocking plot twist, or the fact that this was Part 1 in an unprecedented season-long serialized story.

A partner in crime! Huzzah! And of course I agree with your evaluation. I'll save "Last Flight of the Protostar II" next, partly for the very concept of sailing a starship (the HMS Protostar, anyone?), but largely for the development of Chakotay and Dal's relationship. The scene where Chakotay counsels Dal is genuinely moving.
