"Philippa Georgiou Augustus Iaponius Centarius". Iaponous is a Latinization of the word "Japan".What, specifically, is it about MU Georgiou's titles that links her to Hoshi?
I just looked it up on Memory Alpha and I didn't see anything that did so.

As if windows can't be controlled in some way? Filters, etc? It's absurd to assume a window is just a blank piece of glass like from a plain old building. As far as Trek goes, those shiny bridge consoles showing all those specs make for easy tech reading for when the Romulans start hailing you on the viewscreen (we all know what Khan alone was able to do after reading some tech manuals). Having that nifty transparent bridge window suddenly becomes a liability if an unarmored Medusan happens to float by the saucer section of the Enterprise.
Nothing will beat the rocks coming out of the consoles. Just...horrible. TOS could be ridiculous too.And new Trek's special effects have laughably bad results too sometimes. Those flamethrowers on Discovery that flame on at regular intervals (supposedly because parts of the ship are exploding) look just as bad and unrealistic if not worse than anything seen in TOS.
They can do a lot, even reduce the screen to "TOS size" and black out the "VistaVIsion".As if windows can't be controlled in some way? Filters, etc? It's absurd to assume a window is just a blank piece of glass like from a plain old building.
Khan was just bad op sec on Kirk's part.

As an Android user, I can't help but agree.Just because something LOOKS more advanced doesn't mean it actually is advanced. It's literally the Apple iphone store (which New Trek sets resemble) mentality--that gold plated iPhone doesn't mean jack if it's specs are inferior to the less glamorous looking android across the aisle. The gold plate looks cool though.

Ah, but have you seen a Xenomorph on the bridge? It's a feature. ?And new Trek's special effects have laughably bad results too sometimes. I don't agree, it has things in common with some of Eaves's early concept art for the Connie. Like the side ways rear nacelle hood, and the dual prong deflector dish.we have to reserve the possibility that at this stage of the show, they fully intended the prime universe TOS Constitution-class starships to look like that!
I kinda wish they had managed to say so on screen (canonically). Do you have a link to that behind-the-scenes info, by the way? Also the writer of the episode confirmed it was meant to be a modified Terran design.
The Terrans are not known for their common sense.I kinda wish they had managed to say so on screen (canonically). Do you have a link to that behind-the-scenes info, by the way?
Honestly, modifying it makes no sense, though. You have this gift from the heavens that is oodles more powerful than anything your enemies have, and you want to modify it, risk breaking it permanently? Not bright. Build more, and tweak the design then.

They hot-rodded it.Isn't that what they did? I mean, we saw the ISS Enterprise, clearly a copy of the Defiant. Once they mastered building Constitution Class Starships, did it really matter what they did to the Defiant?
Being that the Defiant has what looks like additional weapon, compared to a regular Constitution, I'm thinking it was the Empires attempt to improve the design. They had milked the design for all it was worth and we're using it as a testbed for new weapon systems. Those look an awful lot like "Mega Phasers" on the pylons. They hot-rodded it.

No bridge window. A smart move by the TerransHere is how it looks in STO. They took some creative liberties, since all they had for reference was that wireframe. Plus they worked backwards from the final DSC Connie design

It's probably just in it's closed position. If it's anything like the Enterprise, it has a shutter that occasionally is used to cover the window. No bridge window. A smart move by the Terrans

There's nothing on the STO model to indicate something like that. It's probably just in it's closed position.
They took creative liberties, since its for a game, but the bridge module omits anything window shaped like in the pictures. It's probably just in it's closed position. If it's anything like the Enterprise, it has a shutter that occasionally is used to cover the window.

It may be interesting to see from Pike's perspective how he handles in his mind what exactly happened to him and what he will endure with the surgeries and ultimately being kept alive in his life-support wheelchair.
