Thanks for voting in the fifth season polls. This is the first part of the sixth season poll where you have to vote the three episodes you consider to be the best. The five episodes receiving the most votes will go on to the next round. Well, if by now you don't know the routine you are officially a newbie. ;)

Winners to date:
Conspiracy (Season 1)
Q Who? (Season 2)
The Best of Both Worlds (Season 3)
The Best of Both Worlds, Part II (Season 4)
The Inner Light (Season 5)

The poll is open for three days.

Relics
Chain of Command II
Timescape

Although I enjoyed Schisms, Ship in a Bottle, Rascals, Face of the Enemy Descent I etc.

A much better season than season 5, season 6 is filled with a lot, and I mean a LOT of good ones. I consider this among the very best seasons of Trek of all time. Definitely one of TNG's very best, too.

Which makes my choices more difficult. That said:

Chain of Command - Season 6's best episode (or two episodes)
Tapestry
Relics - Favorite Scotty episode ever

Again, I'm breaking the rules by choosing Chain of Command as one episode. Unlike DS9's episodes which don't have parts 1 or 2, I decide differently with TNG. Anyway, these three, or four, episodes are wonderful. Tapestry is just about the funniest Q episode, and another great Picard story - ideal for Christmas and even Easter times. Relics is a fond look on TOS, through the eyes of a TOS member. Wonderful episode that showcases Scotty beautifully.

And Chain of Command is, IMO, the darkest two-parter, and indeed, the darkest two episodes that TNG ever had. Picard abused, Captain and First Officer on Ent-D not working happily one with other, and so forth. Also, great performance by David Warner as the Cardassian - I wish we had seen him in DS9, though. Anyway, great two hours of Trek. IMO.

Relics (wonderful farewell/tribute to Scotty and James Doohan)
Tapestry (signature Q/Picard episode of the series)
Chain of Command, II (wonderful appropriation of Orwell's 1984, plus the subplot with Ronny Cox as guest star)

Chain of Command, Part II
The Chase ... This is my favorite episode of TNG. Though, I know many fans disagree.
Timescape

This was almost impossible, and I didn't even realise until after I voted that I missed Chain of Command Pt II.

I cast my votes for Face of the Enemy, Tapestry, and Timescape, but there were another 8 eps or so all in the running....Relics, Frame of Mind, Second Chances, Ship in a Bottle, etc....a lot of absolute brilliance in this season.

Some brilliant stuff in this season, along with some complete trash. I think of "Chain of Command" as one episode but I'm forced to waste a vote on both parts. "Tapestry" is magnificent - one of the very few Q episodes I truly enjoy.

They stand out. I'd rather have spent my third vote on "Lessons", a grossly underrated ep which follows up the superlative "The Inner Light" (so much for the "there's no continuity at all in TNG" notion ). I'd also put "Rascals", "Ship in a Bottle", "The Face of the Enemy", "Starship Mine", "The Chase", "Frame of Mind" and "Second Chances" (one of the precious few non-ludicrous transporter accident eps) right up there.

Yikes! I voted by accident before I finalized my ballot. Please feel free to remove my vote for Birthright pt. 1 and Schisms.

Chain of Command Part II - I hate hate hate Captain Jellico, but Patrick Stewart's performance is magnificent.

Tapestry - Probably the best Q episode. Scratch that, second best behind Deja Q.

Starship Mine - Die Hard in SPAAAAACE!
