Even the VOY Finals for 2025 had a better string of episodes than this... and that was a BAD list. I struggle on where to begin. And I'm likely going to struggle making a vote each time, too.

Seasons 1 and 2 are the third and second worst in the entire franchise, so it's hard to vote for them right now. Season 4 meandered so badly, and the ones from there are among the worst of that season, so I don't feel compelled to vote for them yet. The two from season 5: "Mirrors" was just a complete waste of an episode, and the finale was such a HUGE disappointment with its tacked on ending. Season 3 was the 'best' of this series, but even that had a terrible ending and reason for The Burn. So I can't even vote for the season 3 finale.

I guess that means my first vote for the Finals will be "Scavengers". Just because it ends up being the least worst of this bunch. (Rather damning with faint praise, I suppose.)

I'm going with The Galactic Barrier first.

Sure it was meandering around at that point of the season, but I like the whole Species 10-C plot more than the rest.

I think "Scavengers" is my favorite here. I almost saved it. It is not a special episode, but it is a very solid and reasonably satisfying one.

I'll also go with "Galactic Barrier." I think the A story, everything with the galactic barrier, is great.

The problem is that awful Tarka/Book B-story. For me the weakness of the season is like that three episode run of Tarka/Book idiocy, which this is a part of.

I can get behind "That Hope Is You, Part 2." All the season 3 and 4 entries are such a huge cut above the rest here.

This finale definitely has significant problems, but it was the first of Disco's finales to even somewhat stick the landing, after the total faceplants of "Will You Take My Hand?" and "Such Sweet Sorrow."

And I love the emotional punch of Sahil's return. So effective. A shame we never saw him again.

I also quite liked the MU arc in S1.

However, I much preferred the continuation in Vaulting Ambition, than its conclusion in What's Past Is Prologue.

Just think the conclusion was done in a disappointingly obvious way.

I'm having extreme difficulty in voting now.

I am definitely NOT picking a season 2 episode. Season 1 is right behind it it in quality, so I'm not compelled to vote for either of them right now. So that leaves the season 5 ones, both of which I do not like.

I guess I will reluctantly vote for "Mirrors". It was a completely wasted episode and had no need to use the Mirror Universe ship as the setting for that episode, but at least it didn't get dragged down entirely by a tacked on, stupid ending.
