Yo, anybody here? I just made captain folks, let's party!
*whispers* drinks are on me!

I'll take the usual, Shameless.

A bottle of kanar? Wait, when did i become the bartender here? Oh well. Anyhoo, now that you are a captain, perhaps you can tell me if there is a bar in the captain's lounge.

Congrats! :D And as usual, I'll have some bloodwine. :D

And let me just join in and sing praise to Jeffrey Combs. That guy is just great and I love all of the characters he's done. :)

Come on Shameless, you know you wanna be the bartender. It's your destiny. ;)
There's a captain's lounge? Do they have strippers there? I gots to check this out!

Thanks BigFoot, enjoy your bloodwine.

All hail Jeffrey Combs!

Yep, Jeffrey Combs is amazing ... he's just one of those actors who never seems to go on autopilot, rather EVERY scene with him is just great TV. It's been said before, but every scene with him playing off Dukat and/or especially Damar is just legendary.

^ If you like Jeff check out a few of his movies (Re-Animator Series, The Fortress, Peter Jackson's The Frighteners, Castle Freak). The guy is such a chameleon, it's amazing.

Combs rules, one of the best Trek actors around there. If we'd ever get a new series I hope he becomes part of the main cast.

Still reading :D Albeit not very fast ... halfway through The Left Hand of Destiny Book One.

Hehehe, Blade Runner! Perhaps we should make this official: today is Jeffrey Combs Worship Day, and we should celebrate accordingly!

*reloads the jukebox, this time with the Magnificent Ferengi's version of "Money, Money, Money"*

Btw, DsZ, I will be sure to check those films out if I can get my hands on them! :D Although I have actually seen The Frighteners unfortunately before I was either an ENT or a DS9 fan ...

Wow...I saw all of these posts in here and got really curious. Now I see it's a Jeffrey Combs Gushfest!

But that's okay - he deserves it. He is one of the top few recurring actors who truly made DS9 into what it is!

^ If you liked that, come back tomorrow for the official 'Andrew Robinson worship day' :)

^

Well, since you started it....I do have to say that Andrew Robinson is also an excellent actor, very enjoyable on DS9.

But it seems I can't stray from praising Combs for too long, because I do have to say I like Combs better. I think part of it is that Robinson only ever played Garak on Trek (someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that, but I can't think of any other role he ever played). We've seen Combs, however, in multiple Trek roles, really letting his talent shine through with the various characters.

This thread seems to be clipping along at a much better pace than the last one.

^ Yes, it's nice to see the Bar so full isn't it? :D

I've just finished watching Past Tense and I really enjoyed it (again!)

DsZ and stkids - I have to agree about Andrew Robinson being another wonderful actor (and writer ;))

Yeah, thanks to the new guys who joined in. Let me add in my love for Jeff Combs. He is a great actor, and made Shran, Wayoun, and Brunt great characters.

Ooh, am also looking forward to the Andrew Robinson appreciation day! A Stitch In Time rocked - it just threw up so many interesting ideas about Cardassian society and how they're trained to think so differently ... and it was so in-character, of course! :D Andrew Robinson is another one of those really charismatic actors who really makes you believe in every line the character says ... "especially the lies"!

/gush

Actually, I always thought the best part of Robinson's performance was that you were never sure if you could believe a single word he said. But I guess our different views just show how multi-layered his performance really was!

stkids ... sorry, I didn't express that very well! :o I meant that you could believe in the character, if that makes any sense ... believe that he was real (reeeeeaaaal! :D). Basically that he was supremely in-character all the time and never just phoned in his performance.

Gah. Have a cold, it's befuddling my head even more so than usual ... :( *grabs a Tarkalean tea*

Well, if there are no protests, i guess that i will take up the role of bartender here. And dude, the captain's lounge had all of that ... when i was there.

*raises glass to Combs and Robinson*

Don't get ideas above your station. The bar here is self-serve. Garth has spoken, and it's his thread. :p

I've been revisiting my favourite ever SF series, Blakes 7, recently. It's even better than I remembered it. Yay. :D
