Arrow - The Final Season

They’re going to make Diggle a Green Lantern aren’t they? Ugh. I hate than fan service nonsense.
Diggle is far too interesting to play John Stewart.

In some areas but their characters were very different. Not in this show.
Billionaires ✓✓
Kid sidekick ✓✓
Branded weapons ✓✓
Branded vehicles ✓✓
They begin to diverge in the 60s and 70s When Ollie loses his money and be comes a loudmouth liberal and Bruce goes "back to basics" and becomes a Dark Knight.

Personality wise makes the biggest difference. The Smallville version is more accurate in that way. So is the DCAU version.
Talking about Damien Darhk now. He was way more enjoyable in Legends I thought.

That first one should be "Millionaires." Bruce Wayne wasn't dubbed a billionaire until Miller's The Dark Knight Returns in the '80s, and not in mainstream DC continuity until 1994.

Which version of Oliver? The cipher from the 40's, 50's and 60's? The liberal loudmouth from the 70s? The lethal Longbow Hunter from the 80's? The dead guy from the 90's?

Well so far this episode appears to be contradicting the last one.
But maybe it will be wrapped up by the end.
Edit:
Oh never mind, I think it was just explained

Still how did they have images of Dinah for the documentary if she doesn’t technically exist anymore?

What, no Superman at the funeral? Can’t have been that important then. :)
It was alright but I still found his death rather underwhelming. Especially his first one.
Not really a fan of him getting the ring as it feels very fan servicey. It was also done weirdly. Usually the ring flies to it potential owner. It doesn’t crash land in a case for anyone to pick up. That’s Superman. :)

Cant go into detail...and need to respond about last episode...

But this was a REALLY good finale...an ACTUAL valentine to the fans.

EVERY body was there , right (except for Lian Yu folk other than Anatoly)?

Lotz to break Down..later....

I found it very underwhelming.

Largely because they announced his death a long time ago and now were just connecting the dots they had previously shown over the last year or so. His death as the Spectre? They presented as a final human death. No mystery. Even though he calls himself the Spectre in the opening, I expected a hint that he might still be around in spectral form to the others. Unless Stephen plays the Spectre on another show. He is just in heaven with Felicity. Like the end of Titanic, etc.

Unless we we follow up in other shows, the resurrection of certain characters in the new timeline is a meaningless coda. Same for Diggle’s discovery.

What is the deal with Dinah? Going off to new city? We know she will be in Star City again.... 20 years...

A lot of my problems is the Backdoor pIlot setup a non ending. Just a BS 20 gap of no crime. With no vigilantes??? What about the inevitable alien invasions, mad scientists, etc in other shows that will affect Star City in some way. Nor, real life crime. No City is completely free of crime.

During the final scene when we reached 10 P.M., my CW affiliate decided to shrink Arrow and move it to the bottom third of the screen, mute the Arrow audio and put an ad for Black-ish reruns in the upper 2/3 of the screen. It returned to the normal size and placement for only the final line or so.

I had zero recall who Rory was in the bunker in civilian clothes. I kept wondering who the hell that guy was who looked like Ezra Miller.

If it wasn't for the fight scene, I prob never would have remembered him.

TV Guide has a few pieces online about the finale:
  • David Ramsey discusses Diggle - including restrictions imposed on them about that one scene.
  • A discussion of the finale scene and how it came together (they only had EBR for two days of filming).
