Arrow - The Final Season

I see it more as a matter of the future scenes from Arrow being an extended backdoor pilot for GA&tC. After all, it's not like they ever had any real connection to the present-day Arrow narrative until Mia et al. were swept back to the present.

Well yeah, but I think it's enough that Mia remembers it. From an in-story perspective it works as an explanation for both her abilities and as motivation for her to take up the mantle, to prevent that sort of future ever becoming real, and it works from a viewer perspective, because we get to see how different characters turned out under different circumstances. But if suddenly every character gets woken up and remembers both version of themselves instead of spending time worldbuilding this new world you have main characters that are at best only half there and I just don't see any compelling reason to make it so.

How do they reconcile Black Siren, with a complete ignorance of the old Multiverse?

I think they put Black Sirens Memories into Earth 1 Laurel lance, because its close enough.

Although the tech is "restoring" all of the Earth Primes counterparts memories, when Jon was only able to give people a recap on crisis.

Even though I like the lead actress in the episode, what I saw of the episode just didn't resonate much with me. Given they are already doing Star Girl for both the CW and the DC Universe streaming service; I doubt they're going to go to series with this thing.

Time will tell.

Stargirl's presence on The CW will have zero effect on whether or not Green Arrow and the Canaries officially goes to series.

Of course it will.

No, it won't.

If The CW wants to go ahead with Green Arrow and the Canaries as a series, they'll find room for it on their schedule. Stargirl airing on the network will have zero impact on that decision one way or the other because The CW doesn't have anything to do with Stargirl other than giving it a broadcast television home.

If it doesn't get picked up it might be neat if they do a sequel to the cliffhanger on Legends perhaps.

It isn't just Stargirl the shows has to worry about but also Superman. They might do the show but adding 3 new Arrowverse shows in the same year seems like a stretch. Also with Supernatural ending I am guessing they will be on the lookout for another hot young guys show at some point.

^ Two new Arrowverse shows. Stargirl exists in the Arrowverse's new internal Multiverse, but isn't part of the Arrowverse franchise.

Eh, I love Katherine McNamara in the role. Really enjoy her as Mia and thought her scenes with WIlliam were, in general throughout the season, really great. That's kinda it. I never was a huge fan of Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy looks ridiculous in this. Such a petty face hidden behind Lillian Gish lips and over the top makeup. I hate these "oh here are you memories" things. What's the point of a radical restart if the main characters know what happened?

The end, after the rope slide down, has the three of them staring there posing in such a ridiculous fashion (particularly Cassidy) and I was just pulled out of it. I really felt the emphasis was all off for this. Arrow worked for me as a grounded series that was "Batman without being Batman." Thing is...we have one of those to take over already. Someone with an actual Batsuit in Gotham.

I like the idea of Mia taking over as Green Arrow, but I would have found it more daring to have the kids actually stay in 2020 and carry on the good fight there. Not ruin everything Oliver fought and died for in order to justify a new series.

Yeah, in te same way Black Lightning wasn't at the beginning too. The fact is - it TAKES a programming slot on the CW schedule.

I think they've already ordered Superman and Lois Lane to series, so I'd say the chances for pick up for this aren't that great. They've renewed all of the shows that aren't in their final season, and I S&LL and Stargirl will probably take up the open slots from Arrow and Supernatural.
I enjoyed this, but I was a little disappointed this just felt like more Arrow, I was kind of hoping they'd go for a more distinct tone or style for this.
Honestly, if it came down to this or S&LL I'd go for S&LL just based off of what we've gotten with those two in Supergirl. That should have at least a little more unique tone to it.

I'm guessing if it does get picked up, they'll put a lot more work into futurizing it to make it much more distinct.

I was thinking this was a strange episode to end it on but then I noticed that’s after this.
They are talking a lot of nonsense though. They wanted to make a Nolan like Batman show but they couldn’t use him and so they used the Green Arrow. Hence why the character never felt quite right.
