An Observation About diversity on Discovery, 32nd Century

Like we never saw other Vulcans in Starfleet in TOS but - clearly, as evidenced by the 400 Vulcan crewmembers of the U.S.S. Intrepid - they were around.

Has anyone else noticed that there aren't very many black people in the 32nd century? The only black people I have seen are Burnham, Booker, Doc, and O. I haven't see any black people in the back ground at Starfleet HQ in the 32nd century.

Has anyone else seen black people in the background of Starfleet HQ or any other episode after the jump to the future?

I wonder what happened to them between the battle with Control and the 32nd century.

A good place to start would be with the casting people in Vancouver.

There should be way more aliens. You would think less than 5% of Starfleet would be human. On the Discovery it might make more sense, but definitely not in 31st century Starfleet.

Depends on what the other aliens want. Humans seem to have that exploratory spirit. That doesn't mean all aliens will.

It's doubtfull that Discovery will be a cheerful ship after season four. Especially after the first city they come acorss...only their bones and the wild that gnawled on them will be found.
Then there are the mutations to DNA of people effected by the Burn.

We can't forget about those who were transported into one of the three dimensions dilithium exists in either.

Over a century gives you some time to begin to rebuild, something directly shown on the show so far. I’m so not sure what that has to do with the notion that the black people shown so far represents the majority of the remaining population. The show only shows so much and it’s absurd to think that we’re getting the entire picture of the galaxy based on what we’ve seen. This is a casting problem, not a plot element.

Not sure if being on a burning ship that explodes causes mutations. Nor does being stuck on planet because warp travel is dodgy
