After Voyager, whats the order of your favourite ST series?

Well, and I think this the important thing - to give things a shot. If you end up not liking it, then you don't like it. No lives will be lost. No big deal.

But what really annoys me are the folks who have seen about 2 episodes of (insert any show here) and decide it sucks. And then come on these boards and go on and on about how MUCH it sucks in that show's forum.

I know I have seen alot of that foolishness in the DS9 forum over the years. And I'm quite certain you guys in VOY have seen it alot as well.

It's just easier to root out in the DS9 forum because these guys quickly reveal themselves as not knowing much about the arc of the show. Which allows us to identify them quickly and write them off as pretenders.

You guys in VOY don't have as much of that ability. You can try to nail them on the events of a particular episode, but all they have to say is "I didn't see that particular one....but I saw all the others! Really I did! And VOY sucked!"

In DS9, we can nail them much easier for not knowing much about something that was addressed for about 10 episodes.

In fact, we have become quite adept at this.
How much time should you give a show that doesn't appeal to you before you're allowed to post you think it sucks?

I typically give the show a season, or until it's cancelled to decide. It's not fair to judge a series based on a few episodes because they could always get better. I'm not watching it, but it seems like Dollhouse is a good example of this. The first two episodes are not all that great, but as the series goes on, it is getting better, or so I've heard.
I think a season or a few eps. short of it is a fair enough chance. People know what they like and don't well enough to decide from there.

Interesting you mentioned "Dollhouse" and I agree, it's not a very strong start and I'm not sure Dusku is a strong enough actress to convey the emotional connection to carry it. However, the concept itself is interesting and might be a better show had in been on a cable network like FX or something. I think ratings based TV & FOX in general are too fickle about giving certain shows a fair shot, not to mention Friday night prime time is a questionable time slot.

I have to wonder why anyone would want to post on a forum for a show they don't like. I stopped watching "Lost" in the third season but I have better things to do with my time than to go onto their forum and complain about how I was starting to feel as manifpulated by the "Others" as the cast was.

Remember Voyager's ep. "One".

Seven tells the Doc. he complains too much.
His reply was: "I find it comforting."

I think that's why some do it, I think the other half might do it because with written word you have to read it. So when nobody else off the board is listening to their complaints, here we don't have much choice.

It's all about seeking attention.

Well, I'm not done with you yet, exodus. I still have few aces on my sleeve. So look the following picture and concentrate:

You feel sleepy...

You feel relaxed...

You agree with Tachyon on everything...

Your life feels empty, if not watching Voyager on regular basis...

Oh, so now you think you're Dr. Strange?

I'm a bigger Star Wars fans than a Star Trek one. Your Vulcan mind tricks don't work on me.

Try modding a forum full of people who detest and despise a movie that hasn't even come out yet SO MUCH that they spend all of their time complaining about exactly how positive they are that they are gonna hate it beyond anything they have seen before in the entirety of their human experience.

Welcome to my world.

I never knew how much Star Trek sucked until I started coming here.

Good point.

Well, the fans (or the "fans") are always the hardest to please. Fans always know better.
No kidding. I just assumed everybody liked Voyager. Until I came here. Lordy...

Why did you say yes when Bonz offered you the position again? I know whenever there is a mod change or something the common response was "my condolences" but my response in a jokingly kind of way would have been, "What the heck are you thinking." ;)

:p

^ Well speaking for myself after posting here for several years I felt it was time to give something back. Besides, I really have no complaints. Most days are drama free (as in no notifications, warnings or other drama) so it's all good. :)

Anyway, if we could go back to topic...

Oh I have no issue with becoming a mod. In fact, that's kind of cool. It's just becoming a mod for the new movie forum, in which at least half the people who post in there already have decided to hate it and flame away. I'm sure if you were modding when Voyager was it was it's 7th season, things would have been much different. But you're right, time to get back on topic. :)
