After Voyager, whats the order of your favourite ST series?

I never knew how much Star Trek sucked until I started coming here.

Good point.

Well, the fans (or the "fans") are always the hardest to please. Fans always know better.
No kidding. I just assumed everybody liked Voyager. Until I came here. Lordy...

I felt the same way. I joined this board only a couple of months after VOY completed it's run, but I had been a lurker for several months before that.

Part of the reason I STAYED a lurker for so long was because of all the hostility in this forum about a show I, yeah, didn't think was perfect (what show is?),...but fundamentally liked quite a bit.

Before I came here, I knew there were Trek Nerds who knew WAY too much about imaginary engineering, imaginary races, and imaginary characters etc. But I never knew there were so many 'fans' who were so critical and mean-spirited over something as silly as a TV show. Silly me...I always assumed that TV was supposed to be entertaining, enjoyable and fun. Not some sort of jumping off point for hostility and mean-spiritedness.

Me? If I decide I don't like a show after giving it a fair chance, I...

wait for it.....

DON'T WATCH IT ANYMORE.

I don't watch every episode with the explicit intention of tearing it down and ruining other fans' fun.

That aspect of this board truly mystified me when I first joined. That, and the two-way street blatant hostility between DS9 fans and VOY fans.

I never even knew that sort of thing existed before coming here.

I love this board (wouldn't have stayed if I didn't think the benefits outweighed the costs). But I am not at all convinced that my opinion of Trek fans in general has been improved by my participation here.

I thought the whole point of Star Trek was tolerance and diversity.

Try modding a forum full of people who detest and despise a movie that hasn't even come out yet SO MUCH that they spend all of their time complaining about exactly how positive they are that they are gonna hate it beyond anything they have seen before in the entirety of their human experience.

Welcome to my world.
No kidding X 2. :techman:
 Really. I mean, some days I really wonder if ANYTHING would make some people happy short of reverse aging (and bringing back from the dead, in some cases) the original cast of TOS and Gene R., and giving THEM (the fan) 100% control over the script, props, sets, and CGI so that they could 'fact check' everything with canon and quasi-canon and assumed canon and side-canon from the novels and make EVERYTHING to meet with their personal approval. Or if (what I really believe), in truth, some folks simply aren't happy unless they are miserable. And as a result, actively seek out things to be miserable about.

I mean, we are talking here about a movie. A single 2-hour movie - one of hundreds of movies to come out this year.

If you think about it that way, it really does boggle the mind how much hatred people are capable of working up over it.

^I really wish Star Trek would win the best picture oscar. I wonder what the response worldwide would be. It's not going to happen, but the thought of it is too funny.

Few VOY fans went to the DS-9 forum; but DS-9 fans came here to bash VOY and fans of the show. It makes sense that VOY fans wouldn't care for that. So, not really a two-way street in that sense. Just in the sense that VOY fans objected.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

WRONG.

It just wasn't as highly advertised on the board in general because the DS9 forum at the time had basically no mods...and thus, no one to warn anyone or break up fights. And so the DS9 fans just learned to live with it. They had no choice for a LONG time - the first 18 months I was here.

But finally, the DS9 fans complained so much about VOY fans trolling the DS9 forum that they appointed ME.

The blatant trolling in the DS9 forum by Nebula1, and that guy (can't remember his name - it was a while ago) was WHY I was appointed, my friend.

There were two main DS9 fans who trolled the VOY forum (two guys - can't remember their names though) and two main VOY fans who trolled DS9 (one female, one male). And no matter what you claim, that is the way it WAS.

But of course, you choose not to remember that. Because you'd prefer to continue to blame DS9 fans for EVERYTHING.

STILL.

But believe me - I was in both forums every single day. And I am a fan of BOTH shows, not just one of them.

And I can tell you - it ran both ways.

But why should I bother telling you that? It's pretty pointless anyway, cus you choose to remember it the way you want to, rather than the way it WAS.

In fact, it was supposed to be over here:
...Anyway, if we could go back to topic...

I posted on topic immediately after that; but then others posted off topic again, one of whom is a moderator. I would have liked to post an off-topic response, too.

Since VOYAGER is my favorite Trek show, I like the others in the following order:

1. DEEP SPACE NINE

2. NEXT GENERATION

3. ORIGINAL SERIES

4. ENTERPRISE

Voy > TNG

I saw only a few eps of the other shows and I didn't really like them... so Voy and TNG (as close second) are my favs.

Hmmm. I liked the Voyager episodes Relativity (Utopia Planetia! And Seven in uniform!) and Flashback (new Excelsior model with lit nacelles! Yay!). And Naomi Wildman was cute.

TNG > DS9 > TOS > VOY > TAS > Ent
