a character I would like to see return in Strange New Worlds

If they choose to bring Sybok back, it will almost certainly have something to do with Spock's relationship with Chapel. Which would be even more problematic, as then Chapel would know of Sybok's existence while Kirk, McCoy et. al would not.

But I don't think he's coming back. His reveal was just a big nothingburger.

They could do a Spock-centric story with Spock, T'Pring Sybok and Angel, that doesn't involve the rest if the regulars. Like the La'An episode with Alt-Kirk.

Or possibly a flashback to sometime before Spock joined Starfleet. Maybe involving time-travel, as in "Yesteryear" on TAS.

Let's see some of Spock's history with Sybok, maybe even involving a young Michael Burnham as well?

Is just mocking people who give a damn. And this kind of art is all about inspiring people to give a damn.

I'm not sure it's fair to say that folks who are less strict about continuity don't give a damn. It could just be that they prioritize different things when it comes to storytelling: characterization, drama, atmosphere, social commentary, entertainment value, snappy dialogue, whatever.

As I always say, there's no right way to watch STAR TREK.

What's problematic about it? Everyone keeps some private secrets even in friend groups.

Although Chapel is nowhere to be seen in Star Trek V, and hasn't been a member of the Enterprise crew for years at that point, so it wouldn't really affect the plot.

She would've had no reason to blab about Spock's black-sheep brother back in the day.

I used to think this was nigh-impossible. Yet, Jolene Blalock did return for Lower Decks. Now, I’d call it… very mildly possible, ha.

Or, since T'Pol would be very much older by Pike's era, they could just recast the part.

(Although bringing back Blalock, even in old-age make-up, would be preferable._

I mean, it's not as though they resurrected Celia Lovsky to play the much younger T'Pau on ENTERPRISE. :)

Spock aged pretty well in Unification. Would they really require much make-up? A little gray hair dye, maybe?

Mmmm... I would love to see a young Captain Tyrrel, and a origin story of the crew of the Reliant.
That ship deserves to clean her name in Star Trek history.

When the show started, I was hoping to see younger versions of Commodores Wesley, Stone and Cartright. Maybe Nogura. Just playing with more people we already know from the early days. Lee Kelso, young Gary Mitchell. Colt, Jose Tyler. Piper, Boyce. Lt Alden. (WNMHGB's communications officer.) So many characters they could have used. Dehner, Noel. I don't know. Its such a rich period full of unexplored characters.... and the show just wants to play in the TOS box again.

If they really wanted to play in that box all those character would be used.

They want to make money? Who'd have guessed that!
Then they should have just done a straight up TOS reboot. They are wasting the time period they are set in.

I know the more they do TOS, the less interested I become. It gets farther and farther away from where SNW started.
