7 and Chakotay did anyone see that coming???

Forever the hopeless romantic, huh kimc?

I actually saw the chemistry start to fade after that. A woman calling a man a "good friend" is the kiss of death to any chance of persuing a relationship. I can't say I blame him, seven years was too long to wait for Janeway. Plus, I think it was a bit trying for Chakotay to put up with her stubborn nature and dismissal of his ideas for seven years too.

However, I did think it was cold to still leave Janeway an old maid upon returning to Earth.

Guilty as charged!

Also, I have gotten together with "good friends". Sometimes romance can grow over time or the timing is off but when things finally work out it can be pretty amazing.

Also, I don't see Janeway as "stubborn" and dismissive of ideas. I do understand though that our current society still has a hard time seeing women in positions of authority. Personally, I see Chakotay as no less of a man for taking orders from her.

As for the term "old maid" don't get me started on that one!

Well, I'll still prefer J/C if it had been written half as well as the better fanfics, but by the show, I don't mind C/7 (even if it was rushed).

Seven had the emotion operation done, able to smile brighter and more genuinely than before, had greater concern (likely, her use of the word "protocol" to try to call off their relationship was not a coincidence), and they both did seem to care about each other.

When you think about it, both were "contrarys" in their own ways, both sacrificed their ships to save Voyager, both were searching their spiritual sides (Chak with his spirit guide, Seven with the Omega particle), both were very unsure what would happen when they got to Earth, both cared very deeply for Janeway and she them.

That being said, I wish the writers/producers/studio/whoever had written a mature J/C romantic/physical relationship during the series--or at least let the J/C have it on the return to Earth. I tried to do it in the one and only fanfic I ever wrote ("The Next Fifteen Minutes").

It is possible that Seven saw Chakotay coming, but that would depend on what position he was in at the time.

I honestly believe Voyager the entire show itself would have been better recieved by fans if "Endgame" hadn't been such a big disappointment, upon first viewing.

I think the fanbase would have forgiven many of the missteps along the way if "Endgame" had held up as strong as "All Good Things.." or "What You Leave Behind". The story didn't have to come full circle, it just had to be more thought out than it was.

When did Seven have a ship?

Good story. :)

Why did the producers feel the need to start the C/7 storyline? Was it just that they wanted to see Seven explore that area and they felt that Chakotay was the most plausible person on the ship that she would get together with? Did they think it was going to be a ratings boost? Was this ever explained?

First, thanks and glad you liked the story.

Second, I thought it was her decision in "Scorpion II" to destroy the Cube--didn't she say as much?

What Seven said in Scorpion II was this: "We are here with your Captain's consent. It was necessary to sacrifice our vessel to protect yours. We have an alliance do we not?"

At this point, she never uses "I", always "we."

Also, it was clear in her previous scene that her goal was to save the nanoprobes, not Voyager.

Isn't "we" actually "I" for the Borg?

Come on, you knew I wasn't going to let you off that easy, did you? lol!

The possibility was there in episodes like Season 4's "Scorpion II" and "The Omega Directive" and especially in Season 6's "One Small Step".

If they had to set up Seven with a member of the crew, it should have been Harry, not Chakotay.

In a way it would make it a little more believable. At least we saw in the past that Harry liked Seven.
Well, I like Sonia, but that does not necessarily mean that "just because I want to get together with her" does not necessarily mean that it may happen...

But, I hope and pray that it does happen.
