2024 book releases

For a second I thought that meant that they were bringing back the short story anthology with the fan submitted material until it clicked that it meant the TV show.

They did. But as an E-book-only release, and with some kind of deal with a subsidy-publishing subsidiary. Which is kind of like "First prize is a 1-week vacation in Newark, NJ; second prize is a 2-week vacation in Newark, NJ," only worse, given that known subsidy imprints (especially if they're known vanity subsidy imprints) are where books go to die.

Be that as it may, I'd love to see a SNW novel from JS.

What happens to the ISBN now?
S&S still owns it and can reuse it for a future title.
What @ATimson said. For two years, I worked for a software publisher, that specialized in the Commodore Amiga, and we had not only a block of ISBNs, but one of UPCs as well, to apply to our products.

Since my present employer doesn't deal in software that ever gets sold through any retail channel (and it's been many years since we last shipped a product on physical media, in an actual box, with a hardcopy manual), we never bothered to obtain anything of that sort.

Are you referring to the 2016 revival? That was 8 years ago now (which, to be fair, I can barely wrap my mind around)! I don't think there's any chance anyone was referring to that.

Yeef! Was it that long ago?

At any rate, I never said a revival had been done recently, only that it had been done. And if they ever try another revival, they should do it RIGHT!

I tried searching, and I didn't see this specifically mentioned anywhere, but sorry if I just missed it.

It looks like they've set the release date for Star Trek: Lower Decks: Warp Your Own Way for October 22.

Titan has put the next hardcover collection of Star Trek Explorer stories up for preorder at Amazon. It's called "A Year to the Day that I Saw Myself Die" and Other Stories, and includes the following:
  • “Chekov’s Challenge” by Walter Koenig and Chris McAuley
  • “Jack of Diamonds” by Una McCormack
  • “The Trouble with Jones” by Greg Cox
  • “Sundering” by David Mack
  • “The Kellidian Kidnapping” by Keith R.A. DeCandido
  • “A Dish Served Cold” by Chris Dows
  • “Working Miracles” by Jake Black
  • “Forewarned and Three-Armed” by Rich Handley
  • “Academy Acquisition” by Jake Black
  • “A Year to the Day I Saw Myself Die” by Michael Collins
  • “See and Seen” by Peter Holmstrom
  • “Lost and Founder” by David Mack
  • “Work Worth Doing” by Keith R.A. DeCandido
  • “Confirmation Bias” by Michael Dismuke
"The Kellidian Kidnapping" is a Voyager story taking place in the sixth season, and is the first Voyager tale I've done that takes place entirely in the Delta Quadrant (weird, I know). "Work Worth Doing" is the backstory for Discovery's President Laira Rillak, and has the distinction of being the first of the Paramount+ shows to get a story in the magazine.....

Me too! This is going to be weird. The first year in ages that I haven't bought the Ships of the Line calendar!
Shoot! I forgot about this (that this year is all repeat images) and when I saw the Amazon listing instantly ordered one. I’m guess I’m glad I got it just to keep my complete 2001 to present run going, but it is disappointing that they couldn’t include even a few new images in this one.
