Arrow - Season 2

Ben was Diggle's Sargent in the flashbacks. Sean Mahar was Shrapnal, the getaway driver that Waller blew up.

Ben was the grizzled soldier in charge in the flashback.

Sean was the mad bomber from season 2, episode 10.

The entire Suicide Squad (Except Harley Quinn, who wasn't even "seen") had been on Arrow before.

Watch the Smallville Episode with Suicide Squad then revise your opinion.

For the comic virgins here, (John) Ostander was a writer who pioneered the 80s/90s Suicide Squad, which was the name of the porn suite all the spies use to get down in in Arrow this week.

Although either Waller is an idiot, or she sabotaged that mission for reason, and unfortunately I'm leaning towards in love with the smell of her own farts idiot at the moment.

There was a %100 percent certainty that Diggle was going to break ranks and #### up the mission as soon as he found out that Deadshot was being left behind to die, even though previously Floyd had killed Diggle's brother.

A %100 certainty.

Why couldn't Mandy anticipate that?

Yay Harley Quinn got a line! Deadshot was awesome. Great to see Diggle actually getting to do something for a change.

I agree with the poster a few posts back who spoke about Laurel's complete change. I know she's going to AA now but wow she's come to terms with things pretty quickly!

But what was that weird video recording thing of Shado in Slade's office? When did they ever get a chance to record that?

I liked the little bit about Moira lying about Ollie and Thea liking swimming too.

Slade has surgically altered many young girls to appear to be Shado and trained them to mimic her personality and backstory to ease his peace of mind when he feels like spending a small amount of time suspending disbelief.

The alternative is that that is Shado before she was on the island which means that they are likely to have been when she was a teenager since she was comparably as old as Oliver on the island (23?) even though the Actress is currently 29.

I always thought he knew Lao Fe, but maybe it was just from the island. Do we know how Slade got there in the first place?

Yes, he and Billy Wintergreen were ASIS operatives sent to Lian Yu to extract Yao Fei.

A good episode, but the Little Red Riding Hood was a no show again. He could have shadowed Ollie in this one.

Yeah, thanks, I vaguely thought that but couldn't be sure.

So it is likely that Slade had some kind of background info on Lau Fe (Yao Fei) and would have known about Shado and probably had a dossier.

Likely contractual, he only is signed for a certain number of episodes. So I'd rather see some Roy-centric episodes, than a bunch of walk-ons that don't really advance his character.

How did I not know Ben Browder was going to do a guest stint?! I can't imagine it's a one off, the role was too small for a guest star like him. You either bring in a Browder as the main guest for an episode or for multiple appearances.

This was his second episode. I don't remember when his last episode aired, but I do remember that he was the main villain.
As for the episode itself, I really enjoyed it. The stuff with the Suicide Squad was good, especially Deadshot. I loved the Harley Quinn cameo. Amanda Waller was kinda scary. Apparently there will be some kind of a backstory with her and Oliver.
The Oliver story was pretty good too. I seeing how exactly Slade's arrival affected Olly. At this point every time Sarah makes it to the end of an episode happy.
Earlier in the thread someone was complaining about the young thin Waller. This actually isn't a new version of the character, she' pretty close to what the New 52 version looks like.

This Waller needs to learn the difference between expendable and disposable. There was no need for her to write off Deadshot like that. He could have just as easily been tasked with setting up a homing beacon, instead of being the homing beacon.

It was a frivolous wasted of a good asset.

Right. In the new 52 she was also part of a special ops unit (Team 7) with Deadshot, Grifter, Dinah Lance, and a few others--I am wondering if there is a version of Team 7 here with a different group?
