The thing that surprises me about some of the folks who believe Khan as the Villian is rehash/same old-same old, are some of the same people who got so wound up about destroying Vulcan.
The sheer act of destroying Vulcan, tells us that we can't count on anything playing out the same, so, even if they do a remake any of the TOS episodes or movies, we can be sure, almost nothing will be the same but, the names.

Bzzzzzt. Can I see your data, please? I, for one, loved the destruction of Vulcan. I'm less optimistic about the return of Khan.
Then you are not amongst the "some" I was speaking of. No offense was intended and no fingers were intended to be pointed, and using "some" when describing both groups, was meant to show being a member of one group, doesn't automatically make you a member of the other group.

Difference is, these guys aren't Chris Nolan. From their track record alone, I have zero confidence in their ability to do anything with this idea that I'll like.
Trekmovie made it's assumption that the villain was going to be Khan Noonien Singh based on the actor types that had been approached prior to Cumberbatch (they were all Hispanic), just as they based their assumption that Leonard Nimoy was making as appearance as Spock Prime again because he said, "We're talking, we're talking." I'd like to see him back but I think he's only been consulting with the writing staff. No one has come out and confirmed these rumors. So we're left to wonder exactly who the villain is, again. And we probably won't find out in July with the next Comic Con because a trailer won't be ready, darn it. The villain might be a Khan, but I doubt that it will be KNS.
People here claim they have "inside information" all the time and they are frequently wrong.
None of that is true. In fact in that very "Spoiler" article Anthony made it clear what that he was basing on his information on inside sources (which TrekMovie DOES have) and also made it clear that AICN was reporting it as well.
