Anything but superboy maybe, it sounds sorta lame as well as i said, a pedos wetdream
Still not getting the connection. Why is it any lamer than Iron Man, Spiderwoman or Supergirl?

What makes it a "pedo's wetdream". Because of the word "Boy"? by that logic any use of the word "boy" is a pedo's wet dream.

women can be called girl and its fine, its a cute starter for a nickname with us, men being called a boy is an insult to his manitude i feel, if you wanna talk down to a guy, you refer to him as boy

Superboy is a boy. I'm male, when I was young I was a boy. Never bothered me to be refered to as a such. Had a bigger problem when kids younger than me started calling me "sir".

And the "pedo wetdream" thing? What's your reasoning behind that?

its just sounds pedoish to me, just a gut feeling reaction to the word.

Boy???? Thats odd. Of course pedo's dont just target boys. Girls are also victims. No similar "gut feeling reaction" to Supergirl? And I would think that a pedo would prefer a nonsuper victim.

I know more than a few women who each object to being called "a girl." I can't say that they are being unreasonable either.
Eh, women often talk about "Me and the Girls" or guys "Me and the Boys". Out in the clubs, Gay men and Straight women talk about "all the cute or Hawt boys". I really don't see a problem with boys or girls, unless it's said in a derogatory fashion. At 47, I'm too old for anyone to refer to as a boy, but, if I was still 25, I wouldn't have a problem with it, and I often refer to 25 year old men as boys, (not meaning juvenile) as an endearing statement. Walking up to a table to speak with ladies you like, you're probably more likely to get an offended reply with "Hello Ladies, how ya doin'" than you to get an offended reply with "Hi Girls, what are you up to tonight", unless they're over 30.

As far as Superheroes go, though, if their name is "X" Boy, that's the Hero going by the name he chose, so, there's no excuse to be upset about being called the name you hung on yourself.

The point is, if someone thinks a particular name is derogatory, then it is to them. Furthermore, it's rude and disrespectful to try to convince someone that its OK to call them something that they have said that they object to.

Girl is connectable to young in my eyes, a guy can call me a girl till i am old lady, cause I sure don't wanna grow old, but I guess I can't speak for anyone else.

Oh, certainly, I'm not trying to convince anyone who is offended by it to not be offended. I'm just saying I don't understand why it's offensive, unless done in a derogitory way
