I'd Hit... Wait, What?!

I have always considered myself a fairly unattractive person. I am probably not nearly as bad as I think of myself sometimes, but I think looks are a somewhat objective thing and we should be honest in our assessment.

Of course that has never stopped me from hitting myself.:shifty:

I once found a TNG fan fic where Troi had a threesome with Will & Thomas Riker...

...just sayin'.

I think Heinlein started that one. :rommie:

I thought it was David Gerrold, actually. (There's a reason why [The Man Who Folded Himself has been referred to as The Man Who Fondled Himself.)

As for me, I can't say I've ever found myself particularly attractive. Though looking at pictures of my 21-year-old self, I think I was kind of cute back then. I'm not sure what happened, considering that compared to most people my age, I still look quite a bit younger than I am.

^^ That came out in the early 70s. "--All You Zombies--" was published in the 50s. Which is pretty surprising, considering the subject matter.

^ Fun fact: The band 'The Hooters' have denied that their song "All You Zombies" had anything to do with that story. As Casey Stengel might say, You can look it up. :)

As for me...let's just say that I chose to go the baldie/beard look because I guess I'm "less unattractive" that way. I HATED the way I looked before. I didn't do this *to look good* but I do feel better about my own looks and I guess that's enough.

Still, probably the only way girls would "hit" me is if they had hammers, or we were playing blackjack. :sigh:

I fail to see the difference. "I did this to feel better about my own look" is just an overly complicated and bashful way to say "I did this to look good". Denial will not help you to find a mate.

With all due respect to the Iguana (who I admit is far more well-versed in matters of style than I am), I think it's entirely possible for there to be a definite difference between having a look that you like and having a look you think others will like.

Well, I agree with you, but that was not what MLB said: "to look good", at lest in my mind, doesn't necessarily mean "to look good to others". I dress "to look good": but the only one I care to please is myself, for the very simple reason that I do not have an access to the mind of others.

Sure, it could be argued that I'm one of the lucky few, because I happen to give myself very good advices. ;)

I believe Aerosmith has also denied any connection with Arrowsmith. :rommie:

Agreed.

I'm not even pretending to believe that there are actually girls out there who like bald guys. There may be no such girls. But I had to take that risk, because as I said, I hate the way I look with hair. It's the best I can do, to get back what little shred of confidence I can.

I have specifically quoted you in the past and replied directly to you to tell you that some women do like guys that are bald, and that I myself don't have a particular preference and baldness wouldn't be a strike for or against in my opinion.

You keep bringing it up as if there are people who are actually saying it's a turnoff, but I have never seen that suggested anywhere on this board.

^ I merely wished to respond to false accusations that the only reason I have this appearance is to pick up girls:

"I did this to feel better about my own look" is just an overly complicated and bashful way to say "I did this to look good". Denial will not help you to find a mate.

I know, I just want to get it through to you that some women are totally fine with guys that are bald, because it's something I've seen you bring up many times.

^ I mean no disrespect, but  . I'm about as rebellious as Charlie Brown.... closest I ever get to being a rebel is rooting for both the Yankees and Mets. :D
