I'd Hit... Wait, What?!

I think a big problem with society is that people think looks = attractive person. Obviously, they do help, but looks aren't everything. You ever get that feeling of being really attracted to someone and you just don't know why? They aren't the best looking but there is something about that person that makes your heart flutter. Things like personality.

The only people who are ugly are people with evil hearts and minds. Everyone else has something beautiful about them and I find beating yourself down for something is just a cry for attention. Not saying that to insult anyone but let me put it this way: I don't like my nose or forehead. Instead of hating my life for things I can't afford to fix, I make jokes about it. It really does help and it makes other people laugh with you. My forehead, for example, isn't HUGE like Rihanna's but I find it a bit too big for my liking so last week, I pinned my bangs back and told everyone 'I have a huge forehead so what better way to get it noticed even more than to pin my hair back' and they laughed and I don't feel all conscience about it because I don't think 'omg who is talking about it????' because they know I make fun of it myself, anyways. If someone knows you make fun of something about yourself, they know it wont hurt your feelings if they make fun of it so they will probably just ignore it.

Sometimes I think I look pretty good. Other times I think I look awful. I seem to physically morph into different shapes depending on my mood or the time of day that I look at myself in the mirror. This probably just means that I'm crazy.

I do think I look pretty sharp with a hat on though.

Valid point, but the first part of attraction is always the "how do they look" factor. I can honestly say that I never first thing, "Oh, she has a cute sense of humor". My first thought is normally, "Oh, she has a cute ass."

Actually, no it isn't. The first part for me is always personality. Someone can be hot as hell and have a garbage personality. I prefer someone who may not be a Hugh Jackman when it comes to looks but has an amazing personality. I'm sure there are other people here who feel the same.

Not saying looks don't come into play at some point but it isn't the first thing I personally look for.

What I'm saying here is that, at first sight, no one can go based on personality. It's impossible. Before the person ever opens their mouth, you've formed an opinion on them. Yes, that may change, but everyone does this.

It's just part of how we, as humans, operate.

That is basically your opinion (IMO, lol).....I don't look out for looks first thing, I go on personality. Perhaps I am just a rare breed.

Not saying I fall in love with everyone who has a great personality but something just 'clicks'. I don't really know how to describe it, it just happens, but it has nothing to do with how the person looks.

Pfft, if I went for looks, I would be married to a Hugh Jackman clone right now <3

For me it's the legs.

Of course, a woman with great legs can act like a bitch or talk like Bugs Bunny.

Looking in a mirror and thinking, "Damn, I'd hit that," just seems like a person with a healthy ego. Now, if the person kisses the mirror -- .

Twenty-five years ago I'd have thought about "hitting on it." Six-foot two, 185 pounds. Nice full brown hair. Dark brown eyes. Full lips. A well-shaped nose.

But today, I'd only hit on the guy I see in the mirror if he had money (and I happen to know he doesn't have enough).

I think I look awesome, in an obscure character actor or quirky writer kind of way. I probably wouldn't hit me, but I'd certainly ask for my autograph.

In my experience, people who say they don't care about looks are generally very good looking themselves.

People who look like me see it from the other side.
