I'd Hit... Wait, What?!

I meant you like the idea of rebelling against societies preferences for looks, so you keep reminding yourself and us that women don't like bald guys.

There's been a few times where I've looked in the mirror and gone "DAMN giiiirrrrrrlllll" merely because I felt sexy. My re-wedding night for example, I felt like I was the most gorgeous woman in the world.

I felt like that when I got ready for my senior prom too.

And first day of senior year I felt incredibly sexy because I had just lost almost 100 pounds and I felt like a new person.

But I don't normally look in the mirror and say that I'd frak myself. I may be slightly, I'd say a healthy dose, vain, but I'm not narcissist.

I like myself with longer hair. I cut it recently, and now I'm getting tons more attention from the local girls. Which is really, really annoying so if I were staying here I'd let my hair grow back down to my shoulders.

As for the original question: Ew. No.

^ I merely wished to respond to false accusations that the only reason I have this appearance is to pick up girls:
 Oh my, such vile and loathsome accusations! But leaving aside the ridiculousness of such defensiveness, you keep reading stuff that isn't there. I didn't "accuse" you of shaving only to pick-up women: I said that "I shaved my head to feel better about my own look" and "I shaved my head to look better" are indistinguishable for virtually all intents and purposes. And that being in denial about your appearance is not the way to attract people. Disagree as you wish, but I fail to see the logic in being defensive with anyone who dares to suggest you are interested in attracting women, while at the same time moping you are alone and dateless.

I just want to get it through to you that some women are totally fine with guys that are bald, because it's something I've seen you bring up many times.
It's almost as if he wants to think he's ugly, to justify not trying to find a date.

With all due respect to the Iguana (who I admit is far more well-versed in matters of style than I am), I think it's entirely possible for there to be a definite difference between having a look that you like and having a look you think others will like.

Agreed.

I'm not even pretending to believe that there are actually girls out there who like bald guys. There may be no such girls. But I had to take that risk, because as I said, I hate the way I look with hair. It's the best I can do, to get back what little shred of confidence I can.

I have specifically quoted you in the past and replied directly to you to tell you that some women do like guys that are bald, and that I myself don't have a particular preference and baldness wouldn't be a strike for or against in my opinion.

You keep bringing it up as if there are people who are actually saying it's a turnoff, but I have never seen that suggested anywhere on this board.

I can't imagine that being bald is seen by most people as much of a handicap anymore. In the 90's every black guy in America was bald trying to like Mike. And white guys have Bruce Willis, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Patrick Stewart, etc. I went bald for awhile in the 90's just as something different. Maybe the horseshoe look is unappealing to some, but the fully shaved look is far more of a fashion statement these days.

My personal preference for hair loss is the receding hairline with no round patch at the back. I think this is extremely appealing. I've gotten it into my head that it looks intelligent.

I find actual baldness from hair loss just fine, however deliberately shaving it is a turn off to me.

When I go bald (and it will happen), I've decided to just let my hair recede naturally. To compensate, however, I will be buying tweed jackets and having leather patches sewn onto them.
