Ryan Church's design, don't mince words, what do you really feel?

Just another refit. Which was my argument for why the original MJ design should have been used with as little changes as possible; after the re-fit, the D, the E, the Excelsior, the Grissom, etc., going back to square one would have been the novel thing to do. Hardly a deal-breaker, though.

To continue that comparison, I feel like JJ put nipples on the batsuit.
Y'know, I really didn't have any problems with that. It was the Batmobile I thought sucked.

"At terty tousant feet youah heart will fweeze, and beat, no moah!"
Classic!:guffaw:

I must say, I absolutely loved her. I was sceptical about her at first, because of that shocking picture, but in action she is something else.

Although, maybe it's because I'm a youngster and like a Rock'N'Roll design or maybe it's because of Australian and I like big things, like the new E. But, while watching TWOK yesterday and looking at pics of MJ's E. I found myself thinking:

"I love this ship, but now, after the New E, it just looks way out of proportion, the Nacelles are to far apart, The Saucer Section is too small and the hull is to short and should be longer."

The nacelles look silly from certain angles. But the ship looked allright on screen. I found the change from phasers to pulse energy weapons more jarring than the changes in ship proportions.

GAH!
Fat nacelles like a crazy weight-lifter's steroid-swollen legs.
Struts pointing the wrong way in a "violate me now with your big Klingon boom" slutty pose.
Blue bubblegum machine globey whatzits.
At least the saucer was a little saucer like. ish.
GAH!
Blech.

It's a total ABOMINA...er. oh nevermind.
ugly. ugly ugly.

"No sir, I don't like it!":scream:

That was really funny.:guffaw:
I mean... this is supposed to be, like, a joke, right?
Really, no one could REALLY feel that way about the ship...

...right....?:vulcan:

I wonder... could any of you photoshop/3D modeling experts give it the eggshell white Ent-A color treatment? I have a feeling I'd like it a lot better.

Then again, maybe not.

Wow. That was another thing I personally disliked- I missed the beautiful strong & proud light gray finish... If anything, I'd photoshop a gray onto the E-A!!!;)

Even though you might not like the lines, I don't think this Enterprise looks flimsy, but rather solidly built.
IMO, it IS the most solid look she's ever had.:techman:

Another agreement, I like the fact that this design seems a lot more sturdy and solid than the previous Connie-version of the Enterprise, though being built on a planet's surface would do that to a design.

I've been wondering, if people want a 'justification' to the curved nacelle struts, you could say that when it was being built on the surface, the nacelle's would have weighed down on the struts from gravity, pushing them down and straight. Once the ship was free from the surface level gravity of the planet, the stress was released from the struts, and they 'bent' back upwards, hence the curvature.

I think the design was great, a nice retro-futuristic look.
I actually think the bridge looks better with all the little lights that were added later (or at least wern't in the concept art).
I'm also really glad they kept the old Klingon battle cruiser. I love that ship.
