I am not saying children cannot be bigots, I am disputing your statement that it is easier for a child to learn bigotry than it is to learn tolerance. I mean, we've failed before we've started according to you, in that case!

Calling someone a Jew as an insult is not new by any means. It's probably one of the oldest existing insults too, given the history of the Jewish people.
Yeah, I've noticed that insult, too. Where did that come from all of a sudden?![]()
It was actually the Romans, innit?Reasons Jews are hated...
1.) Killing Jesus
That's parochial. A lot of nation called themselves "God's chosen people": Romans were Mars's chosen people. Icelanders were Odin's chosen people. Japanese were Amaterasu's chosen people. More recently, America have sometime pictured herself as God's nation, and you can't go more Godchosen than Saudi Arabia.2.) Calling yourself 'God's chosen people' sounds a little snobbish
That's debatable (and quite stereotypical). No people have some kind of inbred skill or ability. Jewish culture might stress more on personal achievements and financial security than others, but it's just a consequence of being persecuted for such a long time. They are not inherently better at something.4.) People are jealous of them for being better Entertainers, Bankers and Businessmen
Again, that's true for virtually any nation. From the "America, fuck yeah!" mentality to any kind of jingoism.5.) The 'If you aren't Jewish, you aren't shit' mentality many Jewish Israelis have in their native land
Manifest destiny. I don't need to go further than that.6.) Thinking they are entitled to some land because God supposedly promised it to them in a book attributed to Moses thousands of years ago
This actually very true.7.) Minorities usually are hated, regardless of who they are or where they are in the world.
Funnyness debatable, given that Anti-semitism was rampant in all Europe (and some US) at that time.(German people are known to be rather hateful Barbarians anyway...)
Bigotry must be learned. Children are not born with it.
Scotland is one of the few countries where they have historically been welcomed and not discriminated against. Why, I don't know.
I don't know if it was supposed to be humorous, but some comments on it:
They were merely the instrument the Sanhedrin used to commit the crime. It was actually the Romans, innit?Reasons Jews are hated...

Who's more famous for this opinion? Hebrews or anyone else? Making claims like that leads to trouble. That's one reason why I leave God out of politics. That's parochial. The bigots and Anti-semites are the ones who hold that view. I just laugh at the jokes based on the stereotypes, which even Jews will occasionally tell. That's debatable (and quite stereotypical). "America, fuck yeah!" was part of a movie from the South Park creators, right?Again, that's true for virtually any nation. From the "America, fuck yeah!" mentality to any kind of jingoism.
I would. America would have expanded sooner or later, regardless of James K. Polk's actions.Manifest destiny. I don't need to go further than that.
Germans really are Barbarians. That's not me Bullshitting you. Also, with their ruthless efficiency and special brand of insanity, they tend to take things to some pretty illogical extremes. That includes hatred and mistrust of strange minority groups.Funnyness debatable, given that Anti-semitism was rampant in all Europe (and some US) at that time.(German people are known to be rather hateful Barbarians anyway...)
The two main reasons for the hatred of the Jews have already been cited: The characterization of them as being responsible for the death of Jesus Christ and the fact that they were allowed to charge interest for loans when Christians weren't. After that, it sort of took on a life of its own.

Didn't most European Jews, especially in Eastern Europe live in poverty for many centuries? I doubt that money lending thing was much more than a stereotype to begin with, since I'd guess that only a few privileged Jews actually had money to lend.
