Star Trek XII

I want them to acknowledge the importance of the choices they made in the first film. That is,

the destruction of Vulcan. What happens then? What will the Vulcans do? How will this affect Spock in the long run? I'd want to see these addressed at least somehow.
Bingo. if they're going to alter stuff in such a huge way and change the Trek time line so massively, they better milk such a plot line for all its worth. Its dramatic gold and dealing with it would be something we haven't seen in Trek

My current dream: Spielberg to direct Trek XII

&

No more time traveling original cast members, please, although Nimoy is great, by all means, more Nimoy. He's already there.

I think they could pull off a "Mirror, Mirror" type plot for the next film. I think their goal is to have Shatner back like they did with Nimoy....not sure how that would work.

I think the next film is no-brainer: Kirk versus his hated enemy, the Klingons.

Recognizable bad guys for the casual fan, a backstory which ties into the "prime universe" ST movies, and an opportunity for tons of action. What could possibly go wrong? :D

Also, I agree that the character of Spock is going to evolve in a very different way. It seemed like they were indicating he would be more emotional and "human".

Nope...KLINGONS are the "DORKY" villains now. They will go for a more personal villian..I have been saying all along they will have Kirk go against his greatest PERSONAL enemy of all time..KHAN...Mark my words..

A Space Seed remake is a great idea, but I don't get why Klingons are dorky. They might have been beaten to death in TNG and so on, but the average entertainment consumer hasn't seen them in 10 years.

Plus in the alternate universe they can go back to being nefarious imperialists with flat foreheads

Instead of a movie, they should do a series using the new cast, picking up where the movie left off.

Alright. I know this is going to sound hackneyed because so many people bitched about Mitchell not being in the film. I really didn't care. There were enough characters to keep track of as it was.

But after watching WNMHGB last night, I got to thinking that Mitchell could make a good villain for a sequel.

For the next one they need three Spocks.

Also, more lens flares and the editing needs to be quicker.

:p

I think they should avoid remakes of episodes or any of the movies...they did a reboot in order to have more freedom, why not take advantage of that and give us something we haven't seen before.

Ummm..good luck with that. They are movie producers...so expect them to see what worked the first time and just mix it up a little...want to make a bet with me now that in the next to movies there wont be PONFARS and or KHANS and or things we have 'kind of seen' before??? I'll make that bet.

They will also look to see what happened THIS time that made it work.
Perhaps a Ponfar, but I bet there won't be a Khan in sight in the next movie. I perhaps, let me rephrase, he won't be an important character in the slightest.

I think they should do a mirror universe story which would be kind of ironic since we are now dealing with a new universe in itself. I think it would be fun idea to use the Carddisians as the main villians. What if Spock and Scotty are part of some experiment that will allow people to cross over into a alternate universe. They figured out how to do this in part because of the events of the first movie. They get trapped there for a year but a year later Spock and Scotty makes it back to enlist Kirk(who know has Gary MItchell as his first officer) into bringing the Enterprise over to help the humans of this universe who are living as slaves to the Carddisians. Maybe Kirk falls in love with the Carol Marcus of this universe and I like the idea of one of the main characters dying or being replaced by there mirror counterpoint or even better yet someone staying behind such as Pike so he can help the humans here rebuild their society.

Other things I would like to see would be.

McCoy needs a bigger role.

Uhura being preagant with Spock's child

A female villian. A Seska type Carddisian I guess you could call it.

Cameo from Nimoy Spock.

Jason

What I want is expressed in the closing monologue.

Strange New Worlds
New Life Forms
New Civilizations.
Where no one has gone before.

No Khan
No Mirror Universe (we're already in one for crying out loud)
No Doomsday Machine.

At the most; the a pre-credit sequence could be them wrapping up a classic adventure... then on to an original story.

If they are going to re-use a race as the villain, then I'd rather see the Gorn or the Tholians...a potentially hostile race that we've not seen much of.

I'd love to see the Tholians re-created with modern CGI. They could make for a great villain. If I remember correctly don't they drive humans mad with the sounds they make or something? More McCoy trying to solve that. And communicating with them is impossible - more Uhura trying to solve that!

please no Khan- the rumours circulating the net are starting to worry me. Khan has been done already!

I am sure they could come up with an epic story about........

THE DYSONSPHERE!

They discover the Dysonsphere, buried in some nebulae... only to find that the Klingons have got there first... but wait... the Klingon ship is adrift, its crew dead. Can the crew unravel the mysteries of the Dysonsphere? Will they get inside and find out whats in there and who built it? Who or what killed the Klingons?

The clock is ticking... 3 Klingon ships are on their way and they want answers... they will blame the Enterprise for the death of the other ships crew.

Coming May 2012.
