So who would you be in ST? and why?

In my ST fantasy I'd be either
1) The Picard - mostly for the first class intellect and regal bearing.
2) T'Pau (ENT style) standing for truth, justice, and the Vulcan way
3) Trip or Geordi - I'd have such a blast being the awesomest fix-it guy in the quadrant, plus they both have an easygoing, roll-with-it manner that I really envy. (OT I'd also love to be Kaylee in Firefly)

"IRL" I'd be a Hoshi. Reserved language geek.

Martok or Garak for me. Both of those lifestyles are ones that would be very hard for anyone in real life to have, so it would be cool.

I'd want to be Federation Ambassador to Risa or something similarly cushy. You get into Starfleet, your chances of being blown up, phasered into a fine mist, or sucked dry by salt vampires shoot up alarmingly.

As for established characters, I'd want to be Lt. Arex. He may not have his own command, but he has three arms, three legs, and a turkey wattle, plus he's bright red. He's a baller.

I'm not so sure I'd be Starfleet. It seems like the benchmarks for even qualifying for the academy alone would keep me from becoming an officer (science/mathematics/engineering) and I can't imagine I'd be a very good enlisted engineer.

I'd probably be a diplomat of some kind, and I would try get aboard a ship with those qualifications (though, since Troy got through... there has to be some levels of the academy that don't require, well... any training whatsover )

Oh. To answer the question, I'd be Worf .

I'm not downing your opinion, I just usually hear them rated as the two worst captains in Trek. I tend to think Picard and Sisko are the best two captains, with Kirk making a very close third. Archer was a little too idealistic for his own good, and Janeway was bipolar and inconsistent. Just my humble view .

And Tom Paris is a great choice, because I'm probably MOST like him out of all the other characters-- given his interests and small-scale obsessions. His love for ridiculous holo-theater and all things retro. Yup, I'd be Tom Paris, hands down.

Oh, Oh, I want to be Q too! I have a pile of washing up that I'm ignoring. I could teach my irritating 15yr old son a lesson or two, get my man back from the pub on time and have great fun confusing people by sending them away someplace! Oh yes, that's who I want to be!

I appreciate your view; glad to see we agree on Tom being a great character. I guess I'm in a minority about Janeway and Archer, though I think it's strange. Ah well.
