When it was only six movies and a few comics, it was supposed to be special in the history of the galaxy. Now, that there are hundred of hours of material, hundreds of comics, novels and video games spread over thousands of years, all basically regurgitating the basic stories?
Anakin doesn’t come across as remotely special. Just another average Sith chode. Just the nature of an expanding franchise. Anakin came, did Sith things, including not being very bright and overplays his hand and is brought crashing down.

And Vader's crimes and malevolence still resonate down the decades to the founding and rise of the First Order, whose second-in-command, Kylo Ren, is not only a disciple of Vader's career but is also Vader's biological grandchild. Anakin Skywalker impacted the galaxy for generations to come.

I don't think the prequels are as good as people have reevaluated them as. Though I don't think they flat out suck either so is that controversial? I'm not so sure lol
Each film in the PT has excellent set pieces.
