Spoilers Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

Considering season 2 is supposed to end on some kind of cliffhanger, it might be a better idea to Batgirl it.

At least the season 1 finale actually ended with tying up all the main arcs of the season. It could function as a series finale.

It seems Batgirl has now become a verb.
Just because Giant Freakin' Robot says something is true most definitely does not mean it is so.

That's barely one step above "I made it the fuck up."

Imagine hating a fucking television show so much that you want people who do like the show to not get more of it, especially when it’s already filmed. Openly pleading for it to be shelved feels over-the-top mean-spirited. Pathetic doesn’t begin to describe these people.
With the cancellation announcement this ilk feels validated to call for all manner of things they're convinced are true about Kurtzman era.

I'm guessing they realize they're probably not going to Batgirl it, but since they will sooner than they wanted have no more SFA to whine about, they might as well get the outrage clicks.

This is my biggest issue with the fandom, the amount of petulant, childish, emotionally stunted dropkicks that fill it to the brim.

I'm not interested in seeing whatever Trek comes from a magafied paramount. While I doubt it will ever go full Maga, I think it will just be a rehash of all the worst aspects of 90's trek. Safe and apolitical, that won't challenge the viewer. I'm sure the chuds and grifters will love it.

Giant Freaking Robot has been documented as specifically seeking out potential writers who "Hate Starfleet Academy". Nothing that they say on any subject at any time should be worth consideration by anybody.

Honestly, y'all, I think I'm on the verge of taking a very long break from all things Star Trek. The toxic fandom is exhausting and emotionally draining and I think I'm just going to direct my interests elsewhere for a while. As ground keeper Willie once said, "no one hates Star Trek like Star Trek fans".

Nah, keep it on a cliffhanger. Stargate Universe ended on one, and it was extremely effective.

Also the SNW predecessor Early Voyages comics ended on a cliffhanger.

Plus, it'll inspire fan debate and fanfic for decades... unless it's REALLY bad.

Man, why did you have to remind me about the Stargate Universe cliffhanger?

At least that's getting a new series soon so they might throw in a line to make us feel better. Or maybe we'll get a whole episode about how they never came back, that seems to be in fashion right now.
