The possible good news is the success of Project Hail Mary might inspire a new interest in science fiction. Perhaps replacing what comic book movies have been doing. It that is the case we might be getting more Star Trek in the near future.

i'm so sad and angry as a Trek fan today (as a Buffy fan too, after the reboot got shelved).

Which is a bad thing because it means they can't package the shows out to network television to make up some of the production costs.

i guess this means we will be getting more endless prequels, TOS reboots, and TNG era, because some fans just can't move on, and accept something different in Trek.

Every time? Disco (which is a prequel, but you list as something different so I'm counting it here) and Lower Decks both got five seasons. No small feat in this day and age.

DSC was also a prequel for the first two seasons, set a decade before TOS. It's my least favorite live action Trek series but one can say that, if one loves it, the show managed to walk the tightrope of being both a prequel and being original and offering a lot of new facets to the fanbase.

I just wanted to see more of the 32nd century, and we will probably never see it again now, on screen anyway. There may be books or comics

Fans came to love DS9. Fans will embrace something new if they feel the show is good enough. With that said I do think it's inevitable that we might be getting a TNG reboot eventually. I am kind of surprised that it's not already happened seeing as how popular TNG was.

Guess we're never going to see the Enterprise-V or learn more about the Voyager-J or so many other things. The headcanon is going to be working in overdrive

I wasn't much counting on seeing any Enterprise in this series or what was left of DSC. I kept thinking something would be done with the ISS Enterprise (even seeing it in a dock or something), but the writers and production team of DSC (which are the same or similar to those in SFA) filled up entire armories of Chekhov's guns: always having a table in the room but no reason for it being there.

Then Trek fans had several years of no Trek after Enterprise until the first Kelvinverse movie was made. Next Trek thing will likely be that movie being made by the 'Dungeon and Dragons" guys.

All fair. ‘‘Twas kinda a joke. I wasn’t really expecting to see the Enterprise either. Kinda hoped by the 32nd century they decided to retire the registry number.

It was only 4 or 5 years after TAS when TMP premiered, it wasn't decades.

And I don't mind the next movie being made by the Dungeons and Dragons team. That was a fun movie with good pacing and a good plot that had some good callbacks to the game.
